Mood about the coming season?

I've had enough time to overcome the gloom and doom I walked out of the Moda Center with in June - back to irrational hope that somehow, some way, this is going to work. We're going to be healthy and kick ass!

I appreciate this mindset and as a Blazer and Beaver fan you have to have it or you'd go insane. I actually looked at getting League Pass but then realized we are in for the same groundhog day type of season and passed for now ... maybe I'll reconsider after the ASG.

Predictions are just that. I'm done with getting worked up over a "Diss". The bottom line is, none of us really know what is going to happen, or who is going to win it all. So why get heated, or come off like you're some kind of Gamesstradamas. Just try to enjoy the season like you don't have your house, wife, and kids on the line. Enjoy the highs, and don't sweat the lows more than a few minutes after the game. If the cards fall right, this could be a special season. Go Blazers!!

While I was excite about Billups. The preseason games have been disappointing to say the least. Not willing to say its a bust yet but a lot less optimistic. And don't give me that "its only a preseason they are only using 1% of their power thing" the pre season team isnt suddenly going to snap into something different this is our team going into the season with a roster change.

Stotts was definitely holding us back, with that said, I'm less optimistic than I was after watching the GS game, I think it will take us some time getting used to the new system and finding our rotations. But I'm relieved to have a coach that I don't think I know more basketball than he does, this means we will get better, this means we'll be more competitive come playoff time, so I'm catiously optimistic

I'd be less optimistic if the team was going into the season with Dame, CJ, Roco, Norm and Little all gone.

Dames response to the dude with his house on the line?
“Say Less”
Pretty funny because I took your post as telling people to say less and enjoy the season.

thats the key to the craziness of this place though right? You say enjoy the highs and don’t sweat the lows. Depending on your annual predictions of what you realistically think is going to happen, determines what a high or low is. Some on here think this team is going to win 54 games and finish in 2nd or 3rd place…… those fans have quite a few lows on the horizon. I say 41 wins and a battle for the 8th seed, when we win 48 and get the 6th…..I will have had quite a few Highs.

54, 2nd, that's me. I've been dissin Stotts for five years and I believe he was main hold to this team. I would say, I am pretty sure Blazers will be strong Adonal Foyle this season.

Just a heads up that you can change your vote if, say, recent events have caused you to reevaluate our chances.

What's funny is the people who are the highest on the team are the calmest right now.

If Dame were to get injured we’d be a 30-win team. With Dame, but no further trades: I’ll go 4o-42

Understandably because it’s a different coach. Same results with Stotts this place would be on fire.

Because with Stotts he would've already thrown in the towel on any changes they needed to make, and would've given the green light to CJ, Dame and Melo at the (the part you seem to be missing out on) detriment of the teams overall growth and well being.

I need you to acknowledge we had the second best offense in the ENTIRE league. As quickly as you do that we had the second worst defense in the ENTIRE league. And you people want to tinker with that? Don’t fix what ain’t broke. Dame’s prime is being wasted on the concern of the team growth and Brown’s development.

The 2nd best offense that other teams said was easy to figure out. The 2nd best offense in the "entire" league that lost in the first round against a team missing 2 starters. The 2nd best offense in the "entire league" that didn't even have HCA in the playoffs and never even competed for the division title.

I'll gladly lose some of the offense for some of the defense.

Where was Milwaukee's offensive rating? Or Phoenix?

The top 8 teams offensively (Portland being one) had 7 teams make it to the 2nd round at least. For some reason, the "2nd best" offense in the league didn't make it past the first round.

lol wut? Brown is like our 13th guy and won't play this season. i don't think you understand what the preseason is.

Outstanding points. And I would lose some offense for better defense in a heartbeat. I’m not going to dig for numbers, cause you ain’t good with the all the book learnin’….. But I could make a list of our accomplishments over the past few years while having the 2nd worst defense in the league. Last season my man with the Knicks would text me and say how they wished they had our offense….they could have our defense. That doesn’t mean anything, just a guy with their team’s opinion. But it looks like we will find out this season how much we miss the 2nd best offense in the league that you hated so much. Should be interesting.

Somebody earlier said that had Melo been on the team this season he would have stunted the growth of Brown. I was just answering. Trust me, I understand.

Let me know when you understand my post. It makes sense.

That "second-best offense in the ENTIRE league" was consistently stymied in the playoffs, year after year. An offense that is predicated on the star player going thermonuclear in order to accomplish anything is not reliable come playoff time, which is what we are all concerned about. We want a team that is built and managed in such a way that when the game changes in the playoffs, it has the ability to adapt and remain successful, not immediately crap out.

If you have the worst defense in the league and according to some on here the worst coach…..I’d rather go into a playoff series with the 2nd ranked offense than the 15th.

Seems like you just trashed the GM.
