May as well have a centralized topic discussing the gm search, which has officially started

Trail Blazers president Larry Miller on Tuesday night says the team has started its process to look for a new general manager

Miller says the Blazers' ideal candidate will have GM experience OR a highly regarded No. 2 man in the NBA

Miller said previous candidates will NOT be considered. Last year, the Blazers interviewed "5 or 6" candidates according to Miller

I say give the job to Canzano so he can write articles about how much he sucks.

Why do I spend 20 minutes composing something, only to find this board has logged me off in the meantime and my masterpiece is lost. As usual, I'm not going to rewrite what I just typed into the Quick Reply box.

It was an excellent explanation of Allen's thinking in not having a GM this season.

Just saw on hoopshype via the oregonian that they may be.looking at Steve Kerr.

That would be horrible. What has Kerr done?

Wasn't Kerr suggesting we should trade the Oden pick for a vet? At the time it seemed crazy. In hindsight, much better than actually selecting Oden.

Kerr is a relatively big name, right? Would that help when recruiting big name players in free agency?

I just want someone who has a plan and a clear idea of where he wants the team to go. This is especially important because he will not only be bringing the players in, but also the coach. I think we all tend to look too much into specific past transactions when judging these guys. Sometimes, they are not the ones that make the decisions, but rather, it's the owners, and the GMs are often handcuffed into making moves they don't want to make.

It would be interesting if we could lure both Kerr and Fratello. Deliver a serious blow to TNT, but I think the duo could work. I think Czar deserves another chance; he could be like another Doug Collins.

I remember Jon Barry saying that but not Kerr.
