Sports Illustrated NBA preview edition says Green will be traded to Portland or Chicago. Anyone else hear anything about this? I would love Green on our team depending on the price.

I remember we really liked him, but went with Martell.

Green is probably a better player that TRob, but we could actually use Robinson more. We already have 4 shooting guards and I'd kind of like at least one of our young ones to get some minutes.

(Although Green is the player Robinson should emulate: started out all hops and no brain and finally learned how to play.)

If there ever was a trade, we'd give up a guard. No way we add another guard without giving one up

What EXACTLY do they say, Eric? Do they say "we've heard from the agents that this is a done deal" or do they say "here's an idea we've pulled from our asses to pad out a preview that nobody really reads anymore anyway"? I'm guessing the latter.

Here's the exact line in SI. Page 2: "When (not if) the Suns trade guard Gerald Green, will the seven-year veteran's next stop be Chicago or Portland?"

By the way, we are picked 6th in West. Spurs over Bulls in Finals. And there's a big feature on Sabonis' son.

That feels like a looooong time ago.

Isn't Green a small forward? He's an upgrade over Dorell Wright.

He would definitely be an upgrade over wright imo. Green loves to slash to the basket. Wright should have better range, but last season ruined any hope i had for wright being a 3 point specialist

I'd love to trade Wright+McCollum for Green+Ennis

I think Wright could fill the hole Frye left for them and the Suns have a ton of point guards so dropping Ennis to get a true 2 guard makes sense to me. (makes sense for us too as we'd have a true backup point going forward)

Im not keen on the idea of bringing in anyone who is bad on D and I dont think he is an upgrade over Dwright. Green chucked like a man possessed last year especially when Bledsoe was out. If Wright chucked like Green he would put up similar numbers but wouldn't be so bad on D.
Okay they are a wash on D but man Green loses his rotation man so easily that its frustrating to watch.

Gerald Green is a guy I've been talking about lately. He was one of the best 6th men in the league last season. He would be a tremendous upgrade to what we already have at SG and SF. He would be a huge punch off the bench. After bouncing around in the league and international waters, Gerald Green has really earned a place in this league. He can shoot the hell out of the basketball and is one of the most athletic players in the league. Would be a great get for the right price.

Still can't find this. You got a link?

Well, Green is 6'8" and super athletic. He's listed as a SF/SG. So, maybe the plan is to bring him in as our back up SF. It would give us another scorer off the bench. Green shot .400 3FG% last year, which was better than Damian (.394), Wes (.394) and Nic (.361).

Seems like a Stotts kind of player. Do we really need more of those? I'd kind of like to see a Thibodeau kind of player coming off our bench.

Ironically, the Bulls need more scoring from their wings, so Green, a very un-Thibodeau player may end up going to Chicago.

His contract makes more sense than that of Budingers who has 5.5 left for the next two years. At a 15.5 pt average, he would only help the bench. But I can't believe Phoenix would want to trade with someone they are competing against for playoff positioning (Chicago more likely). Also, if they are open to this I have to believe they will be selling high just due to the year he had. Not sure I would give up a McCollum for him. Actually, I know I wouldn't.

He's a slasher more than a shooter (although last year it was 50/50 nearly). Kinda has the LeBron/Batum chase down block in his arsenal too.

It would be fun to have him on our team. He is a high flyer, probably the quickest jump from 2 feet I've seen in person.

I was unaware of how deadly he was from range. That's even more impressive!

So if a deal is made, it's gotta be for something more than just wright. What do you think?

Perhaps you should learn the difference between a statement of fact and a rhetorical question, then post.

Why limit it to those two teams? The question gave it a sense that something is going on between those two teams. Can't fault him for that.

Green is a much better player than I ever thought he could be. He's still about as sharp as a bowling ball.

I'm still not interested in him here in Portland unless we can get him by cutting or trading Dorrell Wright. Any higher cost than that? No, thanks.
