Holy shit. Is this real? It's honestly an offer anything and everything but Aldridge. Cousins is a dumb ass, but a super talented one that makes us better on the court

After the way you killed ZBo for his character issues, I did not expect you to actually want Cousins.

I actually just think Cousins' only wants to win and he's easily rattled by savvy veteran players. I also don't think Sacramento has much in the way of veteran leadership outside of Hayes' who just got there, and am not a big fan of their coach.

I think it is the fact it didn't happen in Portland. I am a Raider fan and always believe in taking a chance. Plus I haven't followed him that closely

Westphal and Hawes had some beef a few years back. Then this happened:

A knucklhead is always a knucklehead.

Most just need a better coach. I usually dwell on McMillan's negatives, but he has his positives. He's good at making youth get organized. Management could exploit this coaching strength by occasionally bringing in a knucklehead to change him. Buy low, improve the property, sell high.

i just checked out his stats, how can a big shoot 4.30 on the season? i have to say, i havent seen him play for more than 40 minutes or so, does he just jack up 18 footers all game? i always figured he was a down low kinda guy, looking at 82games he shot jumpers on 61% of his shots? wtf

From what I hear out of Sac fans Westphal rarely runs the offense through him. Its basically the Tyreke show so Cousins gets a lot of drive and dish jumpers. Cousins does settle for low efficiency offense when he could be forcing the issue inside but Westphal is equally to blame for not really putting him in spots to his and the team's advantage. People always seem to compare him to a bigger D-Bo as a guy who everyone knows is tremendously talented but an immature moron. Down the line he could figure out winning basketball and be a force but I reckon it'll take him a few different teams and several years before that happens, if it ever does.

Against Portland, Cousins had his shot blocked by Kurt Thomas whose feet were still on the ground. I hate him and don't want him.

If all we have to give up is lottery protected picks and Luke Babbitt or Elliot Williams I'd make the deal. DeMarcus is an idiot, but I think Nate could handle the situation as well as any coach in the league. If Cousins doesn't improve we dump him in a year or two, if he does improve we get a steal of a deal.

Actually kind of reminds me of the situation with JR Rider, we picked him up for nothing and he got us to a WCF and was later the main piece in a trade that netted us Steve Smith.

This actually would be a good trader Bob move! ;)

I wouldn't make a trade unless Nate could sit down with Cousins and talk with him for an hour or two, and give his OK. If they think they couldn't afford to resign Wallace, then i would trade him for Cousins; didn't Sacramento just sign Chuck Hayes to a big contract; they must be somewhat in the win now mode.

From Yahoo:

“He’s selfish,” one source close to the team said of Cousins. “He’s always angry or clowning. He needs to change. The Kings have been great about covering things up for him, and his agent has been protecting him.

“He’s always miserable. He acts like he’s entitled.”

Some players are disillusioned with the constant drain of Cousins’ tantrums, sulking and absence of professionalism. “He’s a bully, and they let him get away with it,” one source said. “No one wants to deal with the guy.”

Spending time with Kurt/Marcus/Jamal won't change that kind of attitude.

Give up Babbitt, AJ, Rights to freeland or claver their choice and our 2012 first maybe our second too. Then sign Kmart afterwords back to the jailblazers here we come!
In all seriousness if Mcmillian and our vets think they can keep him in line we gotta make an offer.

I think this was the right move by Sacramento.

They have nothing to lose right now by sitting Cousins. If he were not already on their team, their fans would be wanting to take a chance on the guy.
It is also hard to judge the mental makeup of a guy that we have little access to.

Hmm, Sac has the whole season to figure this out. There's no need to panic and trade him for nothing.

After reading that article, where Cousins is called childish, immature, spoiled, etc, by everyone from the ball boys up to the owners, I'm convinced Sacramento doesn't want to actually trade him. He's been getting away with this shit for far too long and it not only affects his performance, it impacts the team. They are finally calling him out and holding him accountable for his actions. Coddling him and covering up for him didn't work. It just made him even worse. They are now resorting to more of a tough love approach hoping it will help him get his head on straight. It may work, it may not, but the Kings aren't headed anywhere but the lottery anytime soon. Might as well sit his ass down until he learns a little respect and humility.

LOL, Sacramento in a win now mode. Good one!

Yeah, they want to make one more serious title run while Travis Outlaw is still in his prime.

He needs a vet that will keep him in check.

He needs Charles Oakley.

Don't like cousins. Hes basically sheeds head case with Zachs selfishness. Talk about chemistry killer.

He's only 21 and obviously has a lot to learn. An environment change is what he needs. Being traded in only his second year would be a nice slice of humble pie IMO.

It could be just a environment change, but I've seen this before with other players. Sometimes it takes years for them to finally grow up. Can you imagine the "Field Day" Cansuckoff and Quick will have on him? His fragile mind would probably throw a major tantrum.

He's definitely a talent, but I would hate to bring someone in that could completely destroy our chemistry. IMO

If they're going to trade him it should be when his stock is higher. I don't think it does them any good to just send him away right now. Plus he's probably going to get better, he's a decent rebounder already.

J.A. Adande:

If the Kings wanted to look after Cousins' best interests they would find a way to get him to Portland so he could be around Kurt Thomas, the steadying locker-room presence on the ninth stop on his 17-year NBA journey.

"This is a business," is what Thomas said he would tell Cousins. "You're not playing for just one team, you're playing for the 29 other teams. You've got to keep playing, keep your head. A lot of guys think it's all show. You've got to keep your head."

Not saying SacTown or Portland wouldn't be interested... I am just concerned with his attitude. If he comes to Portland and his attitude changes, then it would be a great addition. But it seems he would whine about shit. What if Oden finally comes back and he is put on a reserve role? It could be a very concerning situation in Blazerville.
