<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Dave D)</div><div class='quotemain'>According to league executives, who requested anonymity so as not to spill the Nets' secrets, Rod Thorn's focus for the No. 10 pick in the June 26 draft will be on three big men: Arthur, Kevin Love of UCLA and Anthony Randolph of LSU. Love and Randolph are scheduled to work out against each other on June 12.

Among those who have not been scheduled for a workout is a fourth target, Danilo Gallinari, the Italian forward whom Thorn would probably place at the top of his wish list. Most general managers, however, expect him to be snatched by the time the Knicks pick at No. 6.</div>

I don't see Arthur being worth our #10 pick, nor is he a guy I'd really like to target anywhere. Honestly I'd feel better taking Joe Alexander or Donte Green then Darrel Arther.

That's great news. I guess you could say I'm "Love"in' it.

OK. I'll stop.

You know who has really dropped -- Batum. He was listed at going at ten and now he is late 20's.

This year's Marcus and Sean Williams. Thankfully we have better picks this year and don't need to gamble on someone with questionable work ethic and "potential".

If Batum is available at 21, I say we get him.

The kid is only 19. This kid needs to grow up a little. Playing with Parker, Turiaf, Pietrus, and Diaw on the French National team will be great experience for him to develop.

I don't know anything about Gallinari but I do like the talk of his BBIQ, versatility, and ball handling.

I wouldn't be too upset at DA at 10 if we really like what he shows us in workouts and we can't find anyone to trade down. He's got decent upside and with Love and Randolph in all likeliness being off the board by 10 I think he's only being labeled as high because of other upside picks liked by 'the experts'.

I want someone who can play perimeter D from the 3 position. Gallinari just doesn't fit. We already have VC whose defense comes and goes.

If thats who we really want, we're either getting one, or someone falls to us. Besides Arthur, I'm happy with those choices.

The one thing I wonder about Randolph is that if we choose him do we keep Sean? They seem pretty damn similar. Both quick, long, athletic, shot blockers that are too thin for the 4 and don't have enough range for the 3.

Maybe the Clips can talk with Minnesota and swing a deal for Brewer? He fits those needs

Why would a Nets fan care if the Clips swing a deal for Brewer?

Oops my bad, I was reading something about Brand in another window....I meant the Nets

So Chris Bosh isn't a good PF?

Why are you bringing up Bosh?

He's wondering why we would draft Randolph if his style of play is perhaps similar to Williams'. Doesn't make a lot of sense to draft almost the same exact player in back-to-back years. (note: I'm not necessarily agreeing with Netted's point of view, just trying to clarify what he's trying to say).

I saw a lot I liked from Sean Williams in terms of his offensive development. I think he has a lot more potential than he's given credit for. If he were more emotionally mature he would be a lottery pick in this draft.

Brandon Rush is a lockdown perimeter defender with an NBA body who has one of the best shooting strokes in the whole draft.

If he lasts until 21, the Nets would be foolish to pass him up.

IMO, he's a much better fit than Arthur or Randolph.

If the nets drafted Love or Westbrook and Rush that would be an immediate impact draft.

Don't base your opinions on where these guys played in college. I have seen one report comparing Arthur to Julian Wright of the Hornets...a combo forward.

Another thing, don't base your opinions on whether a reallly young player mimics the current skill set of another player. Randolph is 18 and would be the youngest Net ever and the youngest player in the league. (Almost all the players being considered would be the youngest Nets in 25 years.) If you're drafting someone (anyone other than Durant?) at 18 years old, you are drafting them for the future, not next year. It's simply too much to ask. He may appear to be like Williams right now, but that may not be the way he develops down the road. With two picks in the first round and three in the top 40 of a deep draft, you have that luxury.

I don't think Sean Williams is going anywhere unless it's in a trade for a superstar. He and Randolph ultimately could play both forward positions. (Boone can't.)

Yes yes yes! I would love to see Brandon in a Nets uni. Lasting until 21 might be tricky but if he's there i'll be swearing at the tv pretty loudly if we pass him up.

I like Rush but I don't think he's as amazing a shooter and lockdown defender as you say he is yet. IMO his game is identical to Shane Battie. Great role payer but not a superstar by any stretch. A good enough role player though to play for team USA.

heh yeah I was about to say, I'd love to draft Shane Battier at 10!

I don't like not knowing who to draft at #10.

Let's just aim for Donte Greene. At this point, I don't care if he fits our team, I just want an SU player on the Nets.

In all honesty I have yet to hear a convincing point (or any point at that) as to how Donte Green is significantly different than Anthony Randolph, except for having more range to his jumper.

Not sure if I've said this already, but I'd rather have him than Arthur (although it'd be fun to have two DA's, two DARRELL's)

I know nothing about Anthony Randolph, but I'm assuming he's better than Donte. The only thing I can think of to explain how it's possible for Donte to be better is that maybe he was just screwing around at SU because he knew it was a BS year of college anyway

knowledge is overrated. just look at draftexpress, other random articles, stats if you want, read what other people say, and then make random-ass assumptions. That's how I always evaluate players.

If he's anywhere near as good as Shane Battier the Nets should take him at 10.

You just made the exact comparison I was thinking of when I posted. Who the hell wouldn't want what Shane Battier gives you at #21??!!

If the Nets draft Westbrook and Rush at least that would be an indication that they have some kind of cohesive plan and know what their priority is going forward. I would be very satisfied with that.

Fixed.

Hm. I'd take Shane Battier with a #1 pick unless the draft is universally heralded as one of the best in at least a decade.

I agree. Nets would be idiots to not take Rush if he's there. Between Rush and CDR I give the edge to Rush. I think his game is more NBA ready.
