These stats are ridiculous. And efficient too.

45% FG
37% 3pt -- should be better but still good given the volume
90% FT

He's 2nd among PGs by pretty much ever metric behind Steph and his ungodly 50% 3pt on 10+ attempts a game. Just imagine how much more efficient Dame would be if he had help.

Wasting his prime here.

Speaking of wasted opportunity, I thought this thread would be about me!

Dame’s prime is just beginning. We have lots of time. LeBron didn’t win title for the team that drafted him til his 13th season. Dame himself has said he envisions us going to the Finals in his 11th season. Patience.

Ive never heard that. Link?

That help should include 3-5 swish3 scoring per game from Meyers, who screens effectively for Dame as well as spacing the court and drawing the defense out of the paint. If we run the off ball rotation that has Meyers coming to timed catch and shoots from sweet spots on the arc, we can add 9-15 points and wins.

Neil is more than comfortable just keeping his head above water.

I would say Neil and management are wasting his time here. They haven’t done much to get him help the last couple years and it worries me because I want him to be the greatest blazer and be lifelong here.

He’s been a top three point guard for years to me. Always been slept on. He’s just so good and deserves better players to play with.

Hes getting paid almost $30M a year for a playoff team. So hes only not wasting his time if hes on the 4 teams that make the Conference Finals?

I'm not sure there is any relationship between a player's salary and their prime years. In fact, I'd go so far as to say the two inhabit different planes altogether. I think the point is that, and I fully agree, there are a limited number of years that Dame will play at this level. Sooner or later the numbers shift and head the other way. Right now Dame is peaking and he is surrounded by Nurk, Chief and a bunch of soulless zombies. And CJ. And nothing is being done to better the cast. In fact, there seems to be an effort to keep the same guys together (except team-favorite Ed Davis, of course).

Is he wasting his time if he's not making the Conference Finals? Well...I know you know that that's not what he's saying. But shouldn't we be heading that way by now? I mean, isn't it more about trajectory? We are not rising, nor should anyone expect us to. We are plateaued. We are predictable, and borderline boring. Dame is surrounded by players he can't trust, players who can't succeed at this level. This should be a felony sports crime.

It’s tough because I like the guys on the squad as people but as players everybody except for dame is on the trade block for me. Good chemistry is important as well as culture which this team has established but it’s time to go all in. You just can’t stay mediocre like this for years. You go all in and it either fails or pays off. Honestly it’s become hard to watch. Dame has been the only one worth watching for and the only guy keeping this team in the playoffs. He’s doing his job and more, it’s juat unfortunate about the surrounding cast

When I saw the title thought this was for an Invention Discussion for @HCP about his overhead camera shots during Blazers games at long last.

Imagine my disappointment.

We traded Clyde for him to win a ring he surely deserve. When do we trade Dame? He deserve a ring as well.

Apples to oranges. At the time it was kind of a Jordan vs Clyde league. As in, our best player was rival to the best* player to ever play the game. As much as I like Dame - and I like him a whole lot more than Clyde - he's never going to be mentioned as rival to the best of his contemporaries, let alone the best* of all time.

Unless Dame becomes a problem, I'd much rather he stay here, never win a ring, and go down as our Reggie Miller/John Stockton. Of course I'd much rather he stay here, win a ring, and go down as our Tim Duncan...but I don't think that's gonna happen.

*2nd best - Sabas was the best.

I agree 100%.

I was looking at Clydes stats just now to see how he weas doling the years after we traded him and one thing caught my eye. His first season he only averaged 7pts per game on 17 minutes. the next year, 17 pts on 32 minutes.

Compare that to Zachs first two seasons thus far. 7 pts on 19 minutes his second season so far.

Not the same players I know, but the start is close. So for those who think that Zach wont be an all star because he didnt come out of the gate as such.... well, how do you respond to Clyde then?
