Getting Kanter was huge

Damn sure was. Hope we can resign him somehow. Man possessed vs. his old team.

Man, if we had Nurk we would be a legitimate contender this year. Still have a shot if everyone plays their roles.

Im not gonna disagree especially the part with Nurk, but until the golden state warriors break up (hopefully next year) its there title again this year.

Props to Neil. Without Kanter we are sunk when Nurk goes down.

I think more props are due Kanter than to Olshey

the only other team I've read about that was 'after' Kanter was the Lakers. Portland may have been the only playoff team that offered. And the Blazers had a big need because Olshey let Ed Davis walk leaving the only options at backup C being Meyers and Zach. Kanter plugged the hole that Olshey had dug

Well, NO did clear a spot in the trade for Hood. So overall I think we have to give props to NO for his deadline moves. Losing Baldwin and Steaksauce for two rotation guys is pretty good. I dont even like NO but sheesh if were gonna rip him for everything no matter how petty we should give him some credit here or there too.

Would it have surprised anyone if he declined to go after Kanter because he wanted Zach to get minutes?

And Olshey was responsible for Kanters big contract, he would of gone to LA if not for Neil.

Would Kanter have come here if Olshey hadn't offered him that deal years ago? Maybe... maybe not.

Woj said Thunder and Celtics wanted him too

Kanter was poised in this game and the offensive boards are really huge. He missed several putbacks too or he would have had 30 and 20

You know LA wanted Kanter right? He had the option to go there instead. He probably would've been a starter over McGee.

Kanter signed a contract to come here before. Remember?

NO is THE reason why Kanter CHOSE to come here.

There was no hole... NO made a conscious decision to get minutes to his draftee. Throw his ass to the wolves. We were playing great BEFORE Kanter was signed. Remember?

I was sad to see Ed go too (there are many posts to prove it) but Collins played well and I adapted. I still love Ed but now realize NO was RIGHT. We need guys that cans rebound AND shoot.

Picking up Kanter is a shrewd move by a GM who saw a great opportunity to bolster his bench to make a run for the playoffs.

Just give credit where it's due.

The Lakers weren't headed to the playoffs...they were out. Going to a playoff team meant Kanter was going to make an extra 400K

Kanter looked at LA and saw a loser and looked at Portland and saw a winner. He chose the winner.

I know not possible but wouldnt it be awesome to have Ed backing up Kanter right now? I miss me some Ed Davis!

That's a fair point.

But you still have to give the President props for the bill he signs even though Congress passes it first.

That's all.

I dont like NO, I think Ive made it abundantly clear, but some people just refuse to give him anything...

I’d like to keep Dame and CJ together as our backcourt duo. CJ is going to blow up soon. Hoping we see this happen during the playoffs.

With Kanter and Nurk, if we can keep this pair, I’m happy at Center - especially with Skal!

For the first time I’m going to say - let this cake bake!

CJ is nearing 28 years old. He's in his prime. He's not going to blow up soon. He is what he is.

Now Simons, on the other hand, has infinite potential. I think Simons will be significantly better than CJ before it's all said and done.
Jesus dude. Players get better going into their 30s if they work hard. Fuck, Steve Nash didn't win MVP til he was 31. Dirk was well into his 30s when he stepped up his game and led his team to a championship. You know this stuff, don't you? You used to write about it. CJ can absolutely get better and I have confidence he will.

Keep the band together. We have a contender when Nurk comes back - especially if Golden State breaks apart. Trading CJ is the worst idea ever.

Someone needs to get CJ under control though. CJ is not a bad player. He just has too many below 40% shooting games (or so it seems).
