Good question. Maybe it's because you're a handy scapegoat. Why are you dragging me into this? I wasn't talking about Calvin Natt

Is there anything about this post that makes sense?Cue SPD
"The oceans are dead"
And
"You claim the oceans aren't rising."
Wasn't referring to Calvin Natt.
Fucking imbecile
The author of the thread was Mags. If you wanted to talk about Trump, I suggest you mention his name. I was referring to the subject of the thread, you were not. Hence, the confusion. My post was about Trump. You then wrote about him being a nice guy and well mannered and realized something was very wrong!
If only life were simple, I'm sure there would be lots of simple answers. Initially, melted sea ice means easier hunting for seals, their major source of food. This will not last as the seal population declines. But but but, They were supposed to die off because of the polar caps melting?!??
Here's what the EPA shows -![]()
Scientific American is a worthless rag. Saved you the trouble.
What does that mean, "The oceans are dead."?The oceans are dead. Nothing I can find will convince you otherwise. No source is good enough.
The water level in the oceans has little to do with the amount of rain or snow. This is extremely simplified thinking. It's the surface area that matters. Evaporation, the source of rain water, happens at the surface and not below the surface.Sure it does.
The water doesn't evaporate and fall as rain/snow if it's in the ocean instead of in the central valley.
Because somebody in the scientific community didn't get one detail right means that the other 99% is false? Tell me this, are we losing sea ice or not? If not then why is the ocean level rising? But but but, They were supposed to die off because of the polar caps melting?!??

I can't stand him saying stuff like this.
This IS global warming, moron.
Yeah, EVERYTHING IS GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!!!
If you gave 1 shit about global warming you would not have any technology in your life. Only a massive hypocrite would own a phone and pc and use transportation the internet and the television and radio and listen/play electronic music and cooking food heating home wear clothing live in a home work in an office....
Practice what you preach if you expect to have an audience for your sermon.
Only the Amish can credibly speak on the subject.
Yep, the oceans are rising, have been for about 18000 years this cycle. I think they have risen bout 192 feet or so from the last low point with maybe a bit more to go. Projections range from 6 inches more to as much as 3 feet more. Remember, the anthropologist tell us that the native Americans walked here across the land that connected Siberia to Alaska back in the day when the oceans were much lower.
So if the oceans have risen by 190 feet in 18000 years, or 10 feet every Milena on average, then we know it is slowing, not increasing since we also know the oceans have only risen in inches in the most recent 1000 years.
Ha! Obama saying, "this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow.." embarrassed me for him and his overt pandering to ill informed. But then, in amazement to me, the dummies bought it.

There are plenty of things human beings can do to curb the destruction of the environment. We need not all turn Amish. We could do a lot of things that would help. Or we could just keep doing what we’re doing and let it spiral and fuck over all future generations.
Here’s what I don’t get: people who don’t think humans have caused this. Ok. Let’s say you are right. So it’s not our fault it’s just happening. But we still have been told by scientists throughout the world we could do some things to help. Why not? Instead it’s just “it’s not my fault so I don’t want to help”?
Actually we best get the hell to work on how to deal with what is happening and will happen.
You may not know but it was. I couldn't see where you were referencing anyone but the author of the thread. Had you said Trump, I would not have been mislead.Go back a page and re read it. I don’t know how it can be confusing. Anyway it’s irrelevant.
"Practice what you preach" - So you want me to leave zero footprint while you tromp all over the environment? Something seems wrong with that picture.Yeah, EVERYTHING IS GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!!!

It was a long-standing dispute between SPD and Denny. SPD would comment on health of fisheries and aquatic life. At some point SPD said the oceans are dead. Denny decided they weren’t dead and then decided to bring it up in every thread he could find. Now you are caught up.What does that mean, "The oceans are dead."?
I believe in climate change to an extent, but there are definitely policy makers out there trying to turn it into a cash grab. Global warming=more taxes. Can anyone tell me how a slimy politician giving our money to his friends at some rockefeller-funded pseudo-science Institute helps solve the problem of climate change?
Seems odd that the government telling me were all gonna die in ten years because of CO2 emissions is the same government that literally acts as a bodyguard for big oil interests. There is technology out there that makes petroleum burning engines obsolete. Our own government regulates these technologies out of existence then turns around and tries to charge the ones already getting fucked (us) even more in the form of a carbon tax as a penalty for participating in the paradigm they helped create. They are literally playing both sides of the field and fucking us to death.
Make petroleum burning the only available option, then penalize for petroleum burning.
Its like when they put crack cocaine in the cities then cracked down on it. But now we're all the crackheads.
Im noticing a theme here.
The "entire world community" isn't on board with carbon taxes. Take a look at Paris right now....So the entire world community, it’s scientist, are all part of the cash grab conspiracy?

Yes, both. I will not give you a blunt, yes or no answer. Pollution and carbon emissions are bad, and real... but data is also manipulated. Politicians and corporations capitalize on fear and the need for safety so its only natural they would fund the same studies that perpetuate this fear, while asking for tribute to help solve the problem (which they cannot realistically do). Money in the pockets of lobbying corporations and politicians will not fix this problem, or any problem for that matter. It never has.So what is it. Real or not? Is it the govt making it up as a cash grab or is there man made climate change occurring. Both?

Allowing clean, viable alternatives to petroleum will solve the problem, but these ideas get patented and locked away, or regulated out of existence. Oil lobby is literally helping fund the climate change initiative, think about that for a moment. They get exclusive market rights to sell their product, and their "researchers" get tax dollars. Win win.
So the entire world community, it’s scientist, are all part of the cash grab conspiracy?
If the market was fair and lobbyists didnt write the laws, it wouldn't matter what Trump thought. Any competition to petroleum is snuffed out by obscure laws and regulations and it's been that way long before Trump. Regulations dont hurt oil companies when they are only game in town.Send a letter to your president as he doesn't seem to think reducing or eliminating regulations for clean air and water are going to hurt. He thinks we need to drill for more oil and open more coal mining and the hell with any alternatives.
