GARDEN CITY, N.Y. —
Two New York high school athletes have been flagged for organizing several "kneel-downs" in tribute to Tim Tebow.

The mother of 17-year-old twins Connor and Tyler Carroll says they are impressed with the Denver Broncos quarterback. Tebow has led Denver to a 7-1 record and is a devout Christian known for kneeling in prayer on the gridiron.

The twins play football and baseball for Riverhead High School on Long Island. Mom Sherry Carroll says they had no religious intentions when they organized the kneel-downs this week.

About 40 students participated in the largest act of "Tebowing" on Wednesday.

District Superintendent Nancy Carney says the tribute posed a safety hazard by blocking others from getting to class.

Sherry Carroll says Connor served an in-school suspension Friday. Tyler serves his punishment Monday

Apparently, NBC attempted to wrangle Sunday's Broncos vs. Patriots game away from CBS. CBS said nothing doing, though. It went to the NFL and they chose not to give it to NBC.

I'm guessing this game will be providing substantial ratings.

PS: I still don't quite understand that "flex scheduling" format......and, other than the NFL, which network has ultimate authority in choosing games to air.

Urban Meyer told Dan Patrick that he thought Tebow was a hypocrite regarding his first exposure to Tim's frequent verbal expression of faith. However within a short period of time he realized Tim's faith is very sincere and was simply a natural expression for him. Coach Meyer then wittnessed that the Florida football team and program began to change from Tim's wittness (change is a very positive way). What was even more remarkable, coach Meyer said he and is family have been changed in a very positive way from knowing Tim.

This testimony from coach Meyer is a simple confirmation of what some of us have known for several years. Tim Tebow is just being himself and has become a very positive influence on those that really get to know him. Tim Tebow may become the most polarizing athlete since Mohammed Ali. The Tebow story has even been carried by Fox News and other major media venues that usually do not cover celebrity stories.....very interesting era in the world of sports.

Living in Denver, obviously we get a lot of Tebow coverage. It's everyone else making a fuss. This is just a good kid, being himself.

And what isn't discussed is how huge he is. His touchdown today was from shedding a 250 lb LB like he was a fly.

Doctors urged her to abort the baby for her own safety and told her that the medicines had caused irreversible damage to her baby. Pam said the doctors didn't think of it as a life, they thought of it as a mass of fetal tissue.

While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but refused to consider abortion. She recalled making a pledge to God with her husband: If you will give us a son, we’ll name him Timothy and we’ll make him a preacher.

Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy August 14, 1987. Pam’s youngest son is indeed a preacher. He preaches in prisons, makes hospital visits, and serves with his father’s ministry in the Philippines.

He also plays football. Pam’s son is Tim Tebow.

Do you want your doctor making decisions on your health care based on his or her religious beliefs? Did Mrs Tebow's doctors stop treating her when she told them they didn't want to terminate the pregnancy? Guess what? She lived. Yay!

Perhaps, God allowed her to deliver Tim in the Philippines for a reason. She may very well have been forced to abort him had she been in the U.S. at the time.

I just don't get why people want to root against this guy.

I don't think anyone wants to root against Tebow, many people just think he is getting more media coverage and credit for wins then he deserves. I personally think the Tebow story is very interesting but I can totally understand somepeople being sick of it being the #1 story in the NFL this year when we have guys like Brees and Rodgers and heck even Alex Smith accomplishing far more on the field.
