Go Dallas

As I said. The Islanders didn't score goals during the regular season and the Canes have one of the best, young, defenseman core in the league. They also can play dirty hockey. Arrogant Islanders fans thought they might as well just skip this series it would be so easy.

Isles now down 2-0. Even though the %'s are overwhelmingly in the Canes favor, I think the Isles still have some fight left. They played well today and could have/should have won. The Canes injuries are also mounting. I hope the Canes get it done, but I don't think the Isles will go down easy.

Big game tomorrow night in Dallas. If the Stars can win that game it will be big for them to put some pressure on he Blues to win down in the series. Go Stars Go.

Avery is as dumb as Boomer on the kicking the puck rule. Players score all the time from behind the net by banking off a goalie. It's a shot on goal as well. So kicking the puck from behind the net, off the goalie is not a goal. Morons.

I haven't seen many arguing with the call, Trotz even said it was the right call. I do see people questioning the rule. I don't know where I stand on that one. I can see maybe allowing kicking, but it also could be dangerous. Do you differentiate between kicking from below the goal line? Not sure if that works.

Interesting discussion, but clearly the right call yesterday per the rule. Didn't appear many were upset because it was a pretty black and white call.

He has to try and make it seem like he's sticking up for his free-loading, daughters husband.

I'll tell you this much, Bishop is a difference maker in the Stars/Blues series, in a terrible way for the Stars. He let in a couple of terrible goals in game 1. And last night goal # 2 goes through him, and leaves a slam dunk for the Blues. Goal # 3 he gets beat by a wrister from a tough angle way out. Goal # 4 he gets beat between his arm and body by a guy coming from behind the net. They always say if a puck goes through you that is real bad as a goalie.

He has really hurt the Stars, and unless he steps it up that will be a 5 game series.

Good to see the Stars rebound last night and keep hope alive for a 3rd first round pick for us. Game 5 is going to be a tough one. Hopefully the Stars can keep up the momentum from game 4.

And I'm shocked the Isles are down 3-0 (you were on this one kreider). Happy, but shocked. Also good for us since the Jets pick moves up a spot if the Canes win. Good stuff.

Not shocked at all about the Islanders. Their coach has an enormous history of his teams choking in the playoffs. One year doesn't change that. The team is also not very talented. Their defenseman are marginal and they depend on a 4th line to win games. I pretty much predicted how this series was going to go. Same shit as the Devils last year. Played over their heads in the regular season.

Still pretty impressive they were able to do what they did with that roster. Got lucky at times, sure. But, to lose your most talented player for nothing and make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs is not easy.

One more win and we look good to get another first rounder.

Yes, go Dallas, finish this off at home in game 6.

The Jets pick can now be no worse than 20th. Reasonable shot we add a 3rd first round pick from the Stars, 28-31, better than the 50th or so pick it would have been in the 2nd round.

Let's step back and say wow what an amazing job Gorton has done. We could have 8 first round picks over the past 3 drafts (including the upcoming draft), which would be a record, and we still have a 2nd round pick from TB as well this year, and worst case a 3rd next year from Dallas. Awesome deal with Boston for Nash. Great deal with the Devs for Grabner. I love the Arizona deal where we dumped Stepan. Looks like worst case a solid deal with TB for McDonagh and Miller (McDonagh not what he was and Miller still invisible in big games). An absolute steal for Hayes, who did nothing for the Jets and now will bolt (we got a top 20 pick AND Lemieux). And a great deal with the Stars for Zucc. Reasonable chance we get a 1st round pick now AND they love Zucc down there (leading them in scoring in round 2), so he could re-sign giving us two 1st round picks for Zucc (and if he doesn't re-sign there maybe we re-sign him).

Gorton has done an amazing job stockpiling assets. And with Kakko on board, and cap space to make some smart signings this summer (or trades), I think we'll be a fringe playoff team next season, with a great chance we are back as a very good team in 2 years.

Great stuff Gorton.

I know. They might resign him. That would be absurd. Gorton is a magician. Lou on the other hand is a senile fool. He's sucked for years. He's lucky he hired that coach because it's the only good move he's done in years. Sadly, Hank won't be here when this team challenges for the cup for a decade.

Not ready to play at all. Hopefully they use that as motivation in game 7. Had to be embarrassed with game 6's effort.

I am hoping for at least one more game 7 out of tonight. That would be fun to watch. I kind of think CBJ has the better shot to win and extend tonight. We'll see.

Well, we have two game 7's, both with Rangers impact.

If Dallas wins we get their 1st rounder, 28-31, instead of their 2nd rounder, 50th +/-.
If the Avs win we get pick 19 in round 1 from the Jets. If the Sharks win we get pick 20 in round 1 from the Jets.

Go Stars. Go Avs.

That would be amazing! Tough to be very optimistic but you never know.

Series went about as far as you can just as predicted. #48 vs. #29 isn't a huge deal imo in terms of players, moreso in trade value to move up. I do think we have a solid shot at Zucc re-signing there which would be big. Hopefully the Avs can knock off SJ and bump us up to #19 for WPG pick, plus ensure I'll have someone to root for in the SCF.

Did not work out in the Rangers favor but Pat Maroon is a good all around dude, happy for him.
