I honestly think that this is one of two possibilities. It's either huge swings to put the best roster around Dame that he's had or another press conference like his last followed by reports of Dame demanding a trade, followed by Dame being traded.

I think you both underestimate the value of a guy that almost every big time scout calls the best prospect since LeBron and the best big since Duncan. Watch the way this dude moves, he's not the house of toothpicks that Holmgren was/is he's like a stretched out Durant he moves too smoothly to be a problem. He's the very clear first pick ahead of a really great second and third in Scoot and Miller because his skills, body and the way he moves it are generational.

If we get the first pick we'll keep Wemby or I'm guessing Schmitz quits. That being said Ant and Sharpe don't match for Simmons but And and Nurk do but if it was Ant and Nurk for a guy whose image is as broken as Ben's it would be Ant and Nurk for Ben Simmons and FRPs plural. If we wanted to include Sharpe we might need an additional future first to get OG but maybe not and definitely not the first pick in the draft OG is a elite role player not a superstar. I think if we wanted OG for the pick and Ant during the 2022 draft we would have had him but correctly our front office valued Ant and Sharpe as being more valuable than OG. Not necessarily for Dames timeline but I'd rather have Miller on his rookie deal than OG just in terms of sheer value.

Number one picks in good draft classes don't get broken former all stars or a player the tier below an all star. That's not me being unrealistic about the assets we have because we likely won't get that but it's me being real about shit that I thought was common sense.

Jokes can be hard. I legit think Ant, Sharpe, Thybulle and Reddish will be moved for guys like OG, etc. so while obviously we wouldn’t include Wemby, it was just a slight exaggeration. Plus, people have different senses of humor. Example:

every joke is a funny joke with the right delivery……except abortion jokes because they have no delivery.

See, to me that is a brilliant joke, but some people get offended, even though it is not pro or anti anything. It’s just a fact.

I will not banish those thoughts until the possibility is extinguished but I promise not to whine about it because it'll be less than a one in ten chance that we get that first pick in the draft. I think it'll likely be a little better than a one in three chance that we move into the top 4 though and I'm pretty sure second spectrum likes those odds.

Other than me getting older and less healthy, a title isn’t the end all be all. I want a fun team that gets up and down on offense with lots of player and ball movement, and a pressuring defense.
