Well, for starters, he did lead the financial turnaround at the Blazers. If hired, perhaps he'll have great success with MLS in Portland. Here's hoping.

Meh ... maybe.

The Timbers are a wild and passionate bunch, but I don't see a whole lot of people suddenly becoming big soccer (futbol?) fans just because they moved up to the MLS.

I'll be rooting for them to succeed, because there's going to be a lot of taxpayer money sunk into bonds to fund the new baseball digs and I'd just as soon see revenues pay those bonds back rather than going into default.
