i think he'll stay on a 1yr contract with a wink wink nudge nudge agreement to get re-maxed once the new revenue agreement is reached between the players and owners.

The only possible downside to this move (for Aldridge) is if he gets seriously injured next season. Knock wood that doesn't happen.

Seriously, if he stays healthy, Aldridge can sign an even bigger contract to stay in Portland long-term. He can also explore his options in another year, and see if something more attractive materializes.

The only way I could see Aldridge lured away (either this summer or next) is if another good franchise convinces him that they're putting together a super-team, like the Miami Heat from several years ago. In other words - that Aldridge could be one of three star/superstar players. Maybe the Cavaliers could put something together, where they've got LeBron and Kyrie, and might be giving up on Kevin Love.

Like usual, won't it come down to how much money matters, how much winning matters, and what role he's comfortable playing on the team in question...? That last part could include "big sports celebrity" if Aldridge becomes a really highly paid new player on the Lakers or Knicks. I agree with folks who question whether Aldridge is interested in that. I think he likes being a big fish in a relatively quiet, small pond, like Portland. A big fish in a pressure cooker? Really different story, and doesn't seem like a good match for him.

In the end, I expect Aldridge to re-sign in Portland. Probably for the one-year deal, to maximize long-term earnings, and to give himself an off-ramp a year from now, if the Blazers suddenly go south. Of course, that route gives the Blazers an off-ramp, too, if something happens to Aldridge (knock wood it doesn't).

As of 2:35 PM on May 8th, 2015, I am still 100% convinced LMA will stay.

But you don't know any of the parties involved. Your opinion means nothing,

620am Rip City Radio said they talked to a person who lives near LMA (same block) and that he has already moved out all his belongings from his house.

I cant believe that. They probably saw a ,moving truck which isnt uncommon to see after a teams season ended and a player goes to where they live in the summer.

Maybe if he rented.

Makes no sense otherwise.
Even if this is true it could go so many different ways. It would be near impossible to know the outcome of his free agency with just that information alone.

Maybe he is signing here long term and wants to move his kids into a different school district, or just get different house.

I would suspect Quick would be Canzano to break the story.

Not swayed...

I heard the same thing from LMA barber that he put his house for sale. I'm sure it's pretty easy to research something like that. But all in all not good news..

I heard that LMA is staying in the Kobe Suite in Eagle Colorado.

But, where would he be moving them to? It wouldn't make sense for him to be permanently moving out of his house if he didn't have a new location pre-determined, which would suggest tampering.

So, I also am not swayed.

Preparation, perhaps. He's an UFA and has every right to move his stuff out if he wants.

There's no tampering in this IMO.

But where is he moving it to? Storage? How would that make sense?

1 unnamed player says LMA is leaving.

1 unnamed neighbor says LMA is moving.

5000 unnamed fans shit the bed.

You know, if he's moving, and wants out, I hope he just comes out now instead of making people wait.

It's not like he's be tampering with anything or cause Portland to get a worse trade. If it's known he's gone, it's not like the Blazers or the other team don't already know.

My reference to tampering was only suggesting that if he's moving to the city where he will play next year, that can't actually be determined unless he's negotiating with said team while still under contract. If he just says that he knows he's leaving Portland, that would be a different story. Although I can't for the life of me fathom that he would make that decision prior to having an opportunity to talk to other teams first.

Got that. I just meant that if he's made up his mind AND this rumor is true (I think it's probably similar to the rumors of so and so being traded to Portland because they saw him at the airport), he should just say it outright.

I mean, some think he DID outright say it in the exit interviews (but you can read whatever you want out of those), but I mean just be honest with us.

I think most fans would rather a player just be honest and say "I've decided to move on to another team instead of re-signing with Portland".

Sure, it would sting but I think most people would eventually get over it quicker than if he lies or is purposely coy about things.
