7-2 after today’s loss which highlighted some things that will need to be addressed eventually.

The bullpen is simply not very good. I’m somewhat ok with Bednar as the closer. Hill and Cruz are the best of the pen and they’re being used as specialists really. The rest of the pen frankly stinks.

There’s a lot of low average holes in this lineup. Grisham you have to hope turns it around but everyone and his mother could see regression coming off what he did last season. They current have the worst bottom four hitters in baseball between McMahon, Jazz, Wells and Cabellero. I’m confident Jazz will come around and hopefully Volpe can get back and be competent.

Yeah, this is something that has become a trait of Yankee line ups recently. Our first 4-5 hitters are a plus, but the bottom 3 are a "black hole" that completely kill a potential rally or bigger inning. And something that is not talked about much is that after the 1st inning, depending on who is batting 9th, it can be a very important spot in the order with the better hitters coming up next.

Last year I thought that in addition to their defensive abilities, McMahon and Cabellero would eventually improve their hitting. But they simply have not improved at all since then even though they should be seeing better pitches than the top of the order hitters.

Glad Rosario came through with a nice night. 8-2 is great but this is more about the long run and if this team can truly compete. The roster will need to be tweaked. That’ll be the key.

^^^Yup, the bottom 1/2 of the order is a black hole...and Boone still insists son trotting Bednar out there every night...SSDD.

1-0 loss with one hit. A third baseman batting .067. Way too much shit in this lineup.

Yeah, different year, same ole crap. Top heavy lineup with a "black hole" bottom half...(Chisholm, Wells, Caballero, and McMahon averaging around .150)

Cashman has once again provided us with a line up that is "not built for the PS". The first 4 or 5 hitters put up expected numbers but the latter part of the line up is so bad that they cannot put runners on base and extend innings/rallies.

And Hal refuses to grasp the obvious and still thinks Cashman and Boone are doing a fine job.

But a definition of "stupidity" is "doing the same things over and over but still expecting different results".

I see people saying they ran back the same team. That’s not exactly true because this bullpen is worse.
