OT Goodbye Paul George

So the Pacers wanted CJ in the trade for Paul George? If he stays with the Thunder can we say we blew that one because we where afraid of the one and done rental? I hope he does stay. How about Kawhi Leonard?

No, because as of now he hasn't signed with the Thunder and even if he does, that has little to do with the Blazers. Losing McCollum and George walking at the end would have set this franchise back several years.

Why does PG13 staying in OKC mean he would've stayed with us?

Why are you participating in the madness? Predictions are effing predictions because we can't see the future. Vegas is making predictions, we are making predictions. Educated predictions are better than uneducated predictions...sometimes (see march madness brackets). Some predictions are good, some bad. For most every result there have been predictions predicting it, AND that is half of what we are doing in here!

Can we not predict how Utah would've done against New Orleans because we were wrong about the Blazers series? That's silly. Maybe we learned from our series and the Golden State series what it would look like. In our series, I personally thought Stotts would counterpunch and he didn't. Who'd have predicted that? Answer: someone.

Vegas makes money. But their odds serve other purposes, no? They want to encourage betting so they'll set the line to do so. We are predicting for sake of trying to be right. Sure, we're biased at times. But these are essentially intellectual exercises. To make a prediction while balancing your biases is to put yourself on the line. And sometimes you lose with the team. It sucks but it certainly a big portion of what it's all about for many of us.

My point is it's much easier to say "you can't predict the future" and all that kind of smugfuckery, then to take your knowledge and do your best to predict the future.
So far off topic that i don't know how to respond? Go read the thread.....

That would be fine. Sign in OKC. At least that "Super Team BS" can go away. The LA coverage of Lebron is comical. Probably getting updates that he just took a dump.

So if one hypothetical is true, can we base another hypoethtical based off a different situation so that we can complain?

Lmao. Who knows if he stays in Portland. If he stays in OKC that doesn't mean he would've stayed in Portland.

Set us back from what? Mediocrity? It would of been the best thing that could of happened! He stays we have 2 legit stars, he leaves we drop below the middle of the pack for a few years and stock the roster with lottery picks. Both better options than first round exits every year.

I doubt there is one but considering the value of the players at the time that they ended up getting for PG I find it hard to believe they don’t take CJ and a 1st instead.

Hypotheticals....

Well then I guess my answer would be.....No, we did not blow it, since it was never an option. We have no clue what KP's motives were. "Common sense" could just as easily tell us he did not want to work with us in making a trade.

You think a gm in the NBA would be so petty to turn down a BETTER deal strictly because it came from a former employer? Ok

There is no common sense with Bones... if he doesn’t see video proof he won’t believe it... he probably thinks OJ is innocent
I love how the dude crying about multi-faceted hypotheticals (with no evidence to support them) thinks he's using common sense, and then compares a trade/free agency scenario to a faulty murder trial.

You can't make this stuff up.

And the same kid continues to make up random crap not associated with the conversation because his own points have no substance. But yeah, common sense.

Right, as that's worked out so well for the Sacramento Kings and the early Clippers. Your picture on your username speaks volumes of what you are.

I take it you don’t get sarcastic humor. Anyway that’s a super weak attempt at a personal insult, more like something I’d expect from my nephew, he’s 8. I love it when people like you always mention SAC, how come you didn’t mention philly too?

And for the record posting a giant fucking emoji speaks volumes of what you are.

I can see that you started in January so I guess you missed the fact that it is exactly what was discussed in here when the trade occurred.

Cool? Are people that started in January supposed to go back and read every thread that was made before they joined before posting? Or are you just letting me know several other people agreed with what I think back then?

PG resigning in OKC would make our close whiff on that deal even more harsh. If he resigns in OKC he would have definitely resigned with Dame and CJ in Portland after finishing third in the West.

Without CJ, who knows though. And I Doubt we could've traded CJ for him. KP has a vendetta against Portland, and valued Oladipo because he went to school in Indiana and that would keep fans in seats. Plus, Oladipo always had more potential than CJ.

Congrats, you have proven your posts are the biggest douche posts in the forum.

PS in order to be sarcastic humor it needs to first be sarcastic and second needs be humorous. You failed on both counts.
