The link says he's unhappy in Utah, but doesn't say why. They gave him a big (at the time) contract and made him their number 1 option. So, what is the reason for his unhappiness? Doesn't like his coach? Doesn't like his teammates? Wants to play for a winner and doesn't believe UTA can build one around him?
He's a streaky shooter that's cold more than hot. His 3FG% for the last three years has been .304, .364. .349. He does get to the line a lot, but he's an average, at best, rebounder, but a good passer. He's also not a great defender. At this point, I'd rather upgrade the PF position (I think there's a lot more to be gained there) and keep Aminu at the 3. Aminu is a better rebounder and defender and at this pint, shoots the 3 as well as Hayward. Plus, he's less than half the cost and locked up longer. If Hayward comes here and is "unhappy" a year from now, he could opt out and end up being a one year rental.
I suspect he really wants to go to BOS to be reunited with his college coach. In the end, I think a trade involving Hayward and the 3rd pick probably makes sense for both sides and that's the most likely destination for Hayward.
