GP2 underwent an off season procedure

I wish everyone would chill out on this. The team and GP2 himself have said that he's making sure that he's 100% when he starts playing in games again. That's why they haven't listed him as injured but instead have been listing him as being out for conditioning. I don't think this is some conspiracy (however much people love those these days) and I think it's pretty simple.

GP2 and the team have made the decision that they want him to start playing in games when he can make the team better, not play into making the team better.

Oh, there you go using logic and reasoning. You know that doesn’t play well around here.

why in the hell won't the team give us some reasonable update
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure somebody posted something a couple weeks ago from the Athletic where Billups talks about needing to recover mentally even after one is all healed up physically.

I don't think anyone really thinks it's any kind of conspiracy. Speaking for myself, I'm simply frustrated with the fact that we're now over 2 months into the season, 2 months into hearing that he'll be healthy and available to play any time now, and am simply unwilling to believe that he will actually play a minute for this team until he actually does.

I often say that expectations are a down payment on disappointment. When I expected him to play in October, I was disappointed. When I expected him to play in November, I was disappointed. If I had expected him to play before Christmas, I would have been disappointed again. Now I simply expect nothing from him.

this is exactly it. we could really use his defense right now, and losing a guy we hard capped ourselves for for half a season unexpectedly is just disappointing.

This is it!

Explain that reference. I’ve never seen it.

Bernie dies and two other guys carry his body around clad in sunglasses, pretending he is alive for a weekend. Somehow there is a sequel and his body didn't decay.

iu

The paper is an injury report

gsw didnt re-sign him, perhaps they knew something

they usually re-sign players and have no problem paying luxury tax

They didn't re-sign Porter Jr either. Maybe the idea of paying him 6-8x the contract (due to lux tax) was a bitter pill to swallow.

They weren't allowed by the CBA to pay him what we did. Similar to when Seth Curry signed with Dallas for more than the TPMLE, and people were upset that we didn't re-sign him, even though we weren't permitted to offer him what Dallas did.
