We actually won points in the paint yesterday against Utah.

We don't have many points in the paint, partially because we don't get any fast break points. Fast break points are also points in the paint.

We get outscored in points in the paint because we have no transition defense, and allow fast break points.

The opposing team outscores Portland by an average of 4 fast break points per game. Unsurprisingly, the opposing team outscores Portland by an average of 4 points in the paint per game.

And with our size advantage we should be able to get rebounds, throw outlet passes, run, and get fast break points. But we don't. Why don't we play to our strengths? :dunno:

Howard averages those fouls in more minutes.

Because he's allowed to play through it. Oden doesn't get that luxury.

Sitting Oden until the 2nd half because he has 2 fouls is a joke.

Howard had 1 PF in the 1st Q and played the whole 1st Q. There's no doubt in my mind Nate takes him out earlier, even if he's better at not picking up his 2nd. Nate plays it safe way too much.

I don't like sitting Oden, but for what it's worth, he's not a 3 time all-star, former all NBA 1st teamer and DPOY.

Nate's one foul per quarter policy is/was a joke. He still pulls Greg at the 6 minute mark regardless if he has 0 or 1 foul. So, the real policy is Greg gets to play until he has two fouls, OR 6 minutes is up - whichever comes first.

Pulling your starting center at the 6 minute mark EVERY SINGLE GAME, even if he one, or fewer, fouls is just flat out retarded.

It also guarantees Greg won't see a second of playing time with Andre Miller, the one player who gets him the ball, in the first quarter of any game. Way to get the big man going early Nate. Might as ell have Oden set out the whole first quarter. He'd still have ZERO points, but at least you wouldn't have to worry about him picking up even one foul.

No shit. It's mind boggling to say the least. But I've come to expect that after the 3-guard rotation that INCLUDED Blakey. :sigh:
