Greg Oden or Kevin Durant?

Wrong.

One does not have to "hate" Oden to think that Durant is the superior player.

Only Homer Blazer fans feel the need to knock Kevin Durant in some feeble attempt to puff up Greggy Oden.

12 of your last 25 posts have been some level of Oden-bashing. I would bet that a significant chunk of your other 46 posts have been, too.

How would YOU define "hate"?

Ed O.

Please show me 12 posts where I have "bashed" Oden.

I'll wait.

65+ games and all the playoff games.

Actually, I'd probably be happy with 55 games and all the playoff games, provided he's at 100% during the playoffs.

I really think our team is a 6th seed or better for the next decade, with or without a healthy Oden. So it really comes down to how healthy he is come playoff time. In a few years, if he's 100% in the playoffs, we can beat anyone and win championships. If he isn't, we probably won't.

That's what Shaq did. He always missed regular season games during the Laker dynasty (except for '99-00' when he played in 79 games) 3 straight seasons of 67 games from '01-'04.

But, he was healthy for the post season every time. I'd take that from GO, no question.

Yup. As a fan, I have to admit I'd be frustrated. I mean, you pay good money for tickets and you want to see your franchise center suit up. You want to see your team beat the Lakers every time, whether it's some crappy February night or game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.

But I'd get over it pretty quickly if he led us to a championship.

Switch Durant and Oden right now.. Portland is challenging for #1 overall seed and OKC is lucky to win 10 games.

Look at Durants numbers - he is CLEARLY not the reason OKC is losing games.

So did Harvey Grant on the Bullets. Averaged 20+ points. How did he do on a winning team?

Durant is a talented, good player but Oden is an impact player. HUGE/BIG difference. Batum can check Durant 1 on 1.
Oden is double teamed now. They are on different planets. Go listen to your ESPN update and believe the Hype. Oden would be the #1 pick 90% at the time.

Durant would still take too many shots for us....he would take them away from Roy and LMA...we'd be frustrated by how much he shoots..right now we have a great distribution of shots and shot selection. With Oden in the wings, he IS getting double teamed at times and as he gets better those will turn to triple teams.

Durant wouldn't fit with Roy and LMA? You mean the way Worthy didn't fit with Magic, Scott, and Kareem?

There are reasons to prefer Oden, but this isn't one of them. Durant wouldn't be taking shots from Roy - he would be taking them from guys like Outlaw, Rudy, and Webster. With Durant, you can also turn the PG into a playmaker, instead of a designated shooter like Blake.

Every single GM in the league would take Durant over Oden today.

Do you really need me to show you the list of rookies who have posted similar numbers to Oden this year and flamed out of the league?

One averages 26 pts, 7 Rebs, 3 Assts on 48% FG and 43% 3pt. The Other averages 9pts, 7 rebs, 0.5 Assts. Pretty Obvious to me.

Sean Meagher is running a poll asking if Oden should be the starting Center the rest of the year and into the playoffs. Is this a joke?

"The Big Disappointment" last night? Ouch.

Oden is made of glass.

It's not "Ridiculous" to say that Greg's emotions have been a problem this year. He pouts. Pouts on the bench, pouts on the floor. Coaches, Teamates and every Journalist in Portland has seen it.....

While I agree that it is a bit early to call him a bust.. how do you ignore all of the warning signs? 1- His attitude.. its not that he has a bad attitude.. just no fire. He doesn't seem to really...etc

...it almost looks to me like Oden is fouling intentionally at times. I wonder where his head is at... it seems like he doesnt want to be on the floor...

dont get me started on Oden. Joel should be playing a lot more than he is.

...the longer Greg is on the court - the more awkward and clumsy he looks...

Honk Honk. Durant should have been the pick.

I threw in an extra, just in case you reject one of them.

Even if I had the knowledge of everything that has happened over the past 2 seasons I would still take Oden. I can see that he's going to be a great center. It just takes a little time. Oden will lead us to a championship.

Wrong.

OKC with Durant: 16-51

OKC without Durant: 5-2 (including wins against playoff teams Philly and Dallas). That's half of the 10 you said OKC would win without Durant. And it was done in SEVEN GAMES.

Learn the game, then post.

I already pointed this out in the thread, but actually OKC is 5-3. Durant missed a game early this season, then missed the 7 in a row where the team went 5-2.

Got it. The point is, they won 5 of 6 at one point without Durant. He hasn't been an impact player.
