@BlazerFreeman...if there is more to LA's exams than just a physical, i'm road tripping back to portland to jump off a bridge
I call bullshit. How can you restructure a QO?
BNM
Storyteller posted something interesting from a previous CBA about if you know you're phyically unable to perform you can't accept the QO. The team negotiates a smaller amount and we keep the right of first refusal. This situation could actually work out well for us.
You're not watching Blazers.com are you?
Casey just said that LA is not here today because doctors evaluated him extra sensitively because of the recent event at Or. State.
IF this is true than oden is done here. if he isn't going to play at all this season, then it is time to move forward with the pieces we have and put the whole late 2000's team behind us.
Suffers setback and they restructure his QO to a lesser amount tells me that he did something he wasn't supposed to do.
He was unsupervised in L.A. and I wouldn't be surprised if this came from a drunken stooper at some nightclub. Remember his quote he told some Laker fan this summer: "I'm not thinking about basketball right now, I'm just here to get tipsy"
Sorry go not playing is a disaster
My point is that him sitting out most of the season if not another year and getting 100% healthy with us having the option to retain his rights is preferable to having him sit out a chunk of the season and not getting much time to evaluate his value before we have to offer him another contract.
Essentially, we get a QO mulligan.
But would we even take that? My god this is worse than Sam bowie. At least we got a couple years and buck Williams.

Holy shit. This season is going to suck.
You thought Oden was a terrible basketball player. Why would this be any kind of blow in your mind?
