Who cares?

Uhh...me. I'd like to see Oden being more coordinated and aware on the court as someone who is hoping for more out of him than baby steps. He was getting beat pretty bad by Hadidi at several times in the game.

But if you are happy with mediocrity, I can understand.

Wow, I had no idea we had 9 wins of 20 or more. That's like 20% of our wins!

And we have win 14 games by 15 or more. That means 30% of our wins have been blowouts.

This is the kind of shit after a 20 point win that fucking drives me crazy. Haddadi was 1-2 and the grizzlies score 66 fucking points. More coordinated? What ever.

So not only does Greg have to produce these days, he has to look like Hakeem Olajuwon doing it.

You know, Greg was right - he can't make everyone happy. People always want to complain about something with him. It's sad.

There's always somebody on this board who wants to piss in everyone else's cornflakes after a win. I think I'm doing a better job at ignoring them, and just focusing on the "W".

It's like every game Oden doesn't happen to get pulled because of foul trouble, because expect him to have his 15/12 numbers with +.600 shooting. Don't forget, he will occasionally have a bad game even when given good minutes. He is still a rookie after all, and rookies are inconsistent. At the very least, he played a hard, scrappy, gritty game and managed to produce points when his shot wasn't falling. 12 points and 9 rebounds isn't exactly a bad game for 22 minutes either.

Did you even watch the game? Greg looked very uncoordinated and his time in the game was garbage time for the most part. He certainly needs to be more aware....but he looked fine as a backup C right now, which he is right now.

I give the Blazers props for another big win, but I want the team to improve and be perfect and am critcizing as such.

Greg needs to be more aware on the floor. I don't think he had a good game...he had good numbers but that doesn't mean he had a good game.

Yes i watched the game. I saw a team that won by 20 and barely tried. They had a hard time getting up for it after a while. Thy could have played better, but Greg Uncoordinated?

He needs to be more at ease when he gets the ball...slow down a bit, get some good post moves. He's relying almost exclusively on size and strength right now. No good drop step. I'm glad he's getting some burn though for this game. He wasn't moving particularly well laterally nor was he boxing out that great. When he does get "more coordinated", we're going to get the GO we were all expecting...but right now he needs to man up.

Did you guys read the AP recap of the game? What a bitch. Still trying to work the email angle on Miles. Either tell the whole story or stop eluding to part of the story. God I hate the media.

Meh. The team won (big) on a night the offense looked out-of-sync. I'll take it. Winning with defense and rebounding may not be as entertaining, but it is still a win!

BTW, did I read the boxscore right? The Blazers had more offensive rebounds (21) than the Grizz had defensive rebounds (20). That is impressive!

A mail-it-in 20 pt win against a garbage team.

Are the Blazers play-off ready? Yes.

Any reaction when Miles entered the game?

Or had everybody already left the Rose Garden? :biglaugh:

I also wonder where all of the posters who were promoting Conley Jr. after the last Blazer/Grizz game are right now.

I said fluke shooting performance. You said get him.

Oden: 12/9 in 22 minutes.
Haddadi: 7/6 in 12 minutes.

That is actually fairly comparable.

booed really hard. cheered when he launched up brick city.

he got booed so hard that guys that looked like him (Warrick) got booed by residual drunk fans.

Yeah I was at the game... shameful how hard they were booing.

WHY?????

You can't really be mad that a guy's just trying to play, can you?

He already has 18 million coming to him the next few years no matter what, besides his previous salary. So you can't say he's doing it for the money.

He's at the end of the bench for one of the worst teams in the league. So you can't say he's doing it for the fame or the attention.

He's trying to come back to play for the sake of playing the game. How is that not respectable for anyone?

Yes, he hurt our cap. But that's not his fault. That's John Nash's. We can't be mad that he 'ruined' our cap. The guy is trying to play. Give him a break. The majority of players in his situation would just take the 18 million and sit at home instead of going through the excruciatingly hard task that is a return from MF surgery. For trying to come back and succeeding, you have to at least respect that. Right?

Its not about him hurting our cap. Its about Miles playing like a lazy POS with a bad attitude his last days on the floor in a blazers uniform. He would come to practice still smelling like booze from the night before, he called Mo Cheeks an N-bomb, and he would just walk the offense as a blazer.

So the 20 point difference through out the second half is not a factor? I would think that comes into play. Regardless my point is that Oden did not look un-coordinated. And i don't think he did at all.

Back from the game about an hour ago. Yeah, it was probably the most boring game we've been to this year, but I can't believe people are finding stuff to complain about after a 20-point win. I'm actually glad the game was boring. The Blazers did exactly what they needed to do - put the Grizzlies down on their backs early and not let them back up. That's exactly the way a play-off team should treat a cellar-dweller. The Blazers took care of business tonight. Perhaps it wasn't pretty, but it was effective - very effective. It's not often you score less than 90 and still win by 20.

Memphis is a bad team, but the Blazers made them look even worse than they are. They have some talented offensive players on that team, but the Blazers challenged every shot and defended the paint well. With their cheap owner, small market and crappy team, I just can't see guys like OJ Mayo and Rudy Gay sticking around past their rookie contracts. Perhaps they won't walk outright, but they'll either demand a sign-n-trade, or re-sign and they complain until they're traded (like Pau did - the precedent has been set).

The Blazers also totally, and I mean totally, dominated the rebounds - big props to Joel, LaMarcus and Greg.

And anyone complaining about Greg's performance needs to get a grip on reality. He put up 12 and 9 in game where the final score was 86 - 66. Memphis rookies OJ Mayo and Marc Gasol have both been mentioned in recent ROY discussions. In 33:20 Gasol put up 10 points and 4 rebounds on 4 - 8 shooting, EFF = 12. In 34:42 Mayo put up 12 points, 1 reb and 5 ast on 6 - 14 shooting, EFF = 8. In 21:41, Oden put up 12 and 9 on 3 - 9 shooting, EFF = 14. So, Oden was more productive than Mayo or Gasol in far fewer minutes. Defense and rebounding won this game, and he was a big factor in both areas. I'll take his effectiveness over Gasol's "coordination" or Mayo's flashiness any day. The guy puts up 12/9 in less than 22 minutes in a 20-point win and people still aren't happy. Sheesh. Defense and rebounding wins games and it wins championships. With Joel and Greg, we get great rebounding and interior defense out of the center position for 48 minutes. I can't think of another team in the league that can make that claim.
