Guns at the RNC convention?

It's funny democrats think this is a win, shows just how uneducated they are on the 2nd amendment.
So forget for a second that there is no way the secret service would allow carry at the convention, do you really think that it would be a good idea to allow everyone to carry at this event?

I mean, I have firearms, and carry permits in OR and WA, but I would never go to such a ticking time bomb of an event with the likelihood of thousands of people feeling pissed off and disenfranchised if I knew that many of them were carrying. No fucking way!

And, if I were a candidate, no damned way I would go to the convention either with packing masses.

I think you'd be an idiot to open carry at an event like that. The secret service will blow you away if they even think you are a threat. The reason I know this petition is a hoax is people who conceal carry arent generally your brandish the firearm to prove a point crowd. They are smart and you would never know they are carrying until a real threat arose.

Ill answer your question with a two part question, say people could carry and trump ended up getting shot, what are the odds the bullet came from a gun registered to the shooter, and was the shooter a democrat?

Yes, absolutely I do!

Also suicide vests would be a good idea.

Well, I would say the gun would most likely not come from a Dem, but from a religious nutcase. But that's not what I was asking. You basically agree that it would be a bad idea to let something like this happen. You know, regardless of if its from the left or the right, having carry at a convention would be dangerous.

It's not going to happen. But for all the Trump or Cruz supporters, would it make a difference to you if your candidate didn't support the delegates right to carry at the convention?

Absolutely. It's the main reason half of Republicans aren't Democrats, and it's the main reason Trump is crushing party favorite Cruz.

Neither party has sufficiently defended the 2nd Amendment since President Eisenhower publicly exposed the MIC's silent coup in 1961. The Dems are trying to completely rescind it while the Reps have done very little to defend it.

While the petition was obviously started by the DNC to hopefully (their view) cause deaths and violence they can blame Trump for, it has already backfired on them by bringing the 2nd Amendment issue to the forefront. This highlights the Dems attempts to further enslave the populace and shows Trump to be once again the standard-bearer for Freedom and Equality for all Americans.

Roughly 75% of all gun crimes are committed by registered Democrats or people who are substantially supported by their social assistance programs. "Religious nutcases" tend to be extremely law-abiding, somewhat solitary folks, who rely on their chosen daddyinthesky to exact retribution from evildoers in the afterlife.

Either way, the DNC/RNC/Wallstreet/MIC will make sure there is massive violence at the convention.

The fix is in for Hillary.

Seems the arena actually is government property, run by government appointees, paid for by tax dollars.

The Gateway Sports and Entertainment Complex is a multipurpose campus located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It comprises two sports facilities, a transitional space known as Gateway Plaza, and two parking garages. The complex is primarily situated between East 9th Street to the east, Huron Road to the north (although Gateway North parking garage is across Huron), Ontario Street to the west, and Carnegie Avenue to the south. The sports venues are Progressive Field, which is the home of Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians, and Quicken Loans Arena, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. The complex is owned by the city and is managed by the Gateway Economic Development Corporation of Greater Cleveland. The organization's board members are appointed by county and city leaders.

The arena, along with neighboring Progressive Field and an adjacent parking garage, is owned by the Gateway Economic Development Corporation of Greater Cleveland, an entity made up of members appointed by the governments of the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County.

You can 'SMH', all you want - but what venue were you suggesting?

Any one they want. They want Cleveland for reasons important enough that they won't bother.

Like which one for example? Please name one where the secret service would allow guns.

SMH.

They'd choose one that allows guns. The Secret Service can try to stop them, but it would go to court. Probably to SCOTUS.

That constitution you hate gets in the way of government overreaching.

Dawson was arrested on a charge of assaulting a police officer in October after an outburst in the chamber of the House of Representatives. Court documents from that 2015 incident describe Dawson as a 66-year-old man from Tennessee. In that incident, according to the documents, Dawson "loudly stated to Congress he was a 'prophet of God.' Maybe. Secret Service disagrees with you. Not sure whether they or you know the law better.

a spokesman for the Secret Service said the group has the “authority to preclude firearms from entering sites visited by our protectees, including those located in open-carry states. Only authorized law enforcement personnel working in conjunction with the Secret Service for a particular event may carry a firearm inside of the protected site.”

I was in the Social Security office last month. Took my number and waited, waited about 40 figgin minutes with one window operating out of four. When my number was call, I started up to the window, then a guard came an asked me if I had any weapons? I said no. He said do you have a pocket knife? I said yes. He said go leave it some where and come back.

I did, started the routine over again. This ain't right.

I'm sure when a candidate agrees to Secret Service protection he agrees to follow their rules. If gun owners wanted to hold an open carry convention across the street from the Republican convention I doubt any of the candidates would be allowed to go.

Face recognition software scanned you and notified the guard of your S2 post history. Denny gives the NSA complete access to our posts.

well candidates can turn down Secret Service protection.

You should have stabbed him with your pocket knife.
