Had a chat with a Tiger Fan at Sam ash Music yesterday. Gave my condolences on Ilitch, fine owner, backed his team wanted to win. Then we spoke of the tadpoles running the Yankees. Yep old Steiney has come up with some really foolish thoughts. I also saw video a while back that Steiney would consider A-rod for Monument Park. Bad gig all around, Steiney must think the Yankee Fan Base is a collection of morons. Even Red Sox Fans I've talked to say George is rolling in the grave, Then Marchand states in an article that Girardi hates his twice a day media meetings. Small wonder, if I had to face Matthews and Marchand twice daily I'd have an attitude as well. Come on Steiney, sell the God Dam Team.

^^^can you imagine what The Boss's response would have been when asked about Ellsbury and ARod?

...and yeah, Marchand and Matthews are terrible.

Saw another article on ESPN about the possibilities of A-hole becoming manager, what an insult to the great franchise players the Yankees have had. Going to be watching River Avenue Blues closely through spring Training to see what comments come from the fan base.

...if ARod becomes the manager I'll quit watching the games.

Well Rick already quit watching the Games after he found his woman. Now you??? Come on now Ron I think ARod is an idiot but I will never miss watching a single game unless I have no choice.

A-Roid the Yanqui manager? Oy vey! The whole f'kin world is coming to an end. Lol

He is a douche-bag, but he will not prevent us from going to and watching the games. If I see him at the Home Opener, I will get his autograph and mail it to Ron. :rotfl:

I'd have to be the scum bag to assassinate A-Roid for tarnishing our black empire's legacy, on Opening Day none the less....

Ilitch did what he could to field a contending team, yet he really pissed off a ton of season tix holder's just 2 yrs ago, and again last, by jacking prices up not only for tix, but everything he could.

A buddy I lost last August, had seasons tix for the Bengals, and caught his first game in 1950 at age 10, never missed a home opener after. This will be his first missed Opener, after 66 consecuttive.... RIP JG-

Tiger's fans were pissed when Max walked off, yet they weren't holding their breathes, and half of them were glad to see his hold out Boras game go. Same with Fister, Porcello, and overall the Tigers failure to keep Dombrowski, tossed many fans over the sides, .... I'm not a Tiger's fan, and they've sure spoiled some Yanx hopes in years past, got to give Illitch his due...

...ya know, I always thought that deep down inside, you had a mean streak in you. :bgrin:

Saw video yesterday of Cashman and another Yankee crook CC Sabathia praising A-hole to the skies. With Steinies tw cents and Moron Marchand writing the types of articles slamming Girardi at every opportunity I smell a conspiracy. I've supported Girardi since day one and though he does do some stuff that makes one wonder, he's done best as can be expected. I'd have to say if A-hole was made manager of the Yankees I'd quit watching games as well. At 62 years of fandom approaching I could not find another team. In A-holes Case becoming manager would be another fuck up move up action. We've seen enough of that with Cashman.

^^^yeah, and I'm just trying to figure out why in the world anyone would see ARod as suitable manager material...sorry, I just don't see it.

A-Roid's only requirement to be a Yankee manager " under " these owners is that he knows how to kiss ass!

...evidently Hal's memory is not very good because he must have forgotten that ARod sued him, the Yanx, MLB, Bud Selig, the team doctor, the MLBPA, hell, he sued everyone except the hot dog vendor.

...said this before and I'll say it again, "fuck ARod".

Nope, not at all. I did the same thing to Ricky Boy. We follow each other on Twitter and Facebook. Even if you can't stand him, he is always nice to me. :biglaugh:

...Lil, I beg of you, if you see ARod and get his autograph send it to Rick...if your were to send it to me I'd promptly use it for toilet paper...might be a bit rough but the discomfort would be well worth it.

I thought Ricky Boy blew himself out of his Facebook, or did he create a Caitlyn like Trans-changer FB Alias...

No Rob, I have no idea what Ricky does anymore. I do however follow ARod on Social Media. He has nothing better to do with himself and sometimes gets back to me when I ask him a question. :biglaugh:

Meh...That was PC doublespeak. Hal was just avoiding the landmine questions.

We should realize that there is Hal's official position that he states aloud, his business position which remains behind closed doors, and his personal position that resides in his head.

As fans we have to understand that even if he shares our sentiments, he can't speak them to the media. Even his father learned that lesson.

Nice to see you back Tom. Where the Hell are you now???

...his response about ARod created more questions than answered...a simple "no comment" would have sufficed....and The Boss was never shy about sharing his true feelings to the press.

Did you expect anything less??? :bgrin:

Found out today that Swisher is a ST advisor as well. What the hell is he going to teach "Brohio" Val Girls Speech Patterns. Looks like the DL gets an early start with Tyler Austin out for 6 weeks with a fractured foot.

No comment doesn't work in 2017, come-on. The boss toned it way back after his exile. Plus, most of his personal dealings were done on the quiet in stark contrast to his younger boisterous years.

...lol...yeah, OK, if you say so. "No comment" does in fact work, as it always has unless of course the individual is too dependent on giving the media exactly what they want.
...But after being reinstated, he has very little to complain or be boisterous about...the 1994 Yankees were a juggernaut and were only stopped by the strike that year...in 1995 they made the Post Season for the first time since 1981 but fell short due to the Mariners...and then in 1996, well, as they say, "the rest is history".

...but if you want to attribute Steinbrenner's mellowing being due to some sort of fear of the press instead of a natural mellowing with age and a much improved roster and franchise, well that's up to you.
