Hansbrough?

Not too familiar with him this season. Wasn't overly impressed last season. I read the Draft Express report a couple weeks ago and was slightly intrigued and then there was an article in today's USA Today repeating some of the same things that intrigued me.

They say he's disciplined, very tough minded, great work ethic and driven to win. They also say he has a low post game.

Anyone see him a lot and have opinions on him?

He's not undersized, he's 6'9". That's the same size Kenyon was.

hell no, not over Love or Hardin, anyway Kiki's at the Pac 10 most likely saw a good shooting performance from Joe Shipp, Darren Collison, Kevin Love, Malik Hairston, Derrick Low, Brooke Lopez who was amazing vs Arizona.

Do you have any trusted measurement of his size? As far as work ethic, Mark Madsen has a great work ethic too.

The Nets have enough young guys in the PF/C rotation. I'd much rather they add a hard working, gritty veteran to the group (a Brian Skinner / Bo Outlaw type) than another first round pick.

The lottery pick should be on the best available player, which in most cases will be a wing. I'm a big fan of both Batum and Gallinari.

For the later pick Foster, Sam Young and the underrated Kyle Weaver are of interest to me.

All of those will be significantly negated when he plays against experienced NBA big men.

He can shoot from the perimeter, but he can't drive past anyone. His ability to throw a nice pass off a rebound will still be there, but when he is on offense, he won't get doubled, so there won't be open men for him to pass to.

Unless he pulls a Boozer and completely remakes his body, he isn't going to be effective in the NBA. Of course, even when Boozer was 280 at Duke, he could still play above the rim.

Weaver intrigues me too. Not too sure about Young as he mainly plays PF in college. I want a true shooting guard more than another SF that may have trouble guarding smaller quicker shooters on the perimeter.

I'd like to see more of Douglas-Roberts, Foster, Lee, Batum and Weaver. On the big side I want to see more of Hansbrough and Arthur. I don't like Love.

Cwpanfan I like those later picks but we should also consider Richard Roby, SG out of Colorado, Nbadraft.net compares him to a young Allan Houston ohh and let me add Roby is Kenyon Martin's half-brother

At this point, Roby has almost no shot of being a first round pick. Considering the Nets success rate with second round picks, I'd rather see them Eurostash with that pick.

Young can and does defend the perimeter though. He also has mental toughness that Wright was always missing. DX used a James Posey comparison and I think that is a pretty good one.

I wasn't convinced about CDR prior to this season and now I can't see him slipping to the Dallas first round pick

Well Brad is at least 2 inches taller and at least 10 pounds lighter than Love. Plus, Brad moves a lot better laterally than Love does.

Brad was also undrafted and had to work his ass off to make it in the NBA.

Same. Hansbrough is way overrated. IMO he's similar to McRoberts...and probably on the same level as him, too.

Why is it that the majority of really good white players in college can't make it at all in the NBA?
