Same. Hansbrough is way overrated. IMO he's similar to McRoberts...and probably on the same level as him, too.

Why is it that the majority of really good white players in college can't make it at all in the NBA?
</div>

How is Hansbrough similiar to McRoberts at all?

Somewhat athletic undersized big man who can shoot the ball. Not all that quick.

Eh, I haven't seen much of either of them, so this is from like 1 or 2 games watching each of em. (So basically, I'm not 100% sure of what I'm talking about).

Hansbrough is the anti-McRoberts.

The only way he's similar to him is that, ironically, is that he's white. I see him as a LeMarcus Aldrige with less range to his inside scoring.

McRoberts was a soft little girl that played more on the perimeter and facing the basket. Hansbrough is much more physical and plays more with his back to the basket. His nickname is Psycho... that alone should tell you his demeanor is nothing like McRoberts. But they both are tall and white... that much is similar.

My gut says it's never a good idea to pick a big white guy early in the draft, especially if he speaks English well.

He sort of reminds me of Othella Harrington.

If his career turns out better than that, I'd call it a success.

Nicholas Batum would be an excellent pick. I think he'll be arguably the best swingman to come out of this draft.

I remember the talk of us getting him because he was Kenyons cousin. I couldn't believe he was still in school either.

no dissing K-Marts cuz'...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>KANSAS CITY, MO. — Sitting in the loser's locker room, Colorado senior guard Richard Roby knew this wasn't the time to rejoice in his becoming the program's all-time leading scorer about an hour earlier. He didn't feel much like celebrating, anyway.

The Buffaloes' season had come to an end Friday afternoon in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals with a 54-49 loss to fourth-seeded Oklahoma at the Sprint Center. Roby was still trying to grasp the reality that he would never again put on a Colorado uniform.

"The four years went by fast," said Roby, who said he was already having flashbacks to his freshman season. "But they're making jokes about it on ESPN. They called me 'a ninth-year senior.' I guess nobody expected me to stay here and see this season.

"But I'm glad I stuck around for it. I learned a lot, playing this season for Coach (Jeff Bzdelik). I'm just excited for what my future has in store for me."

that is one kid who is going to be a solid pro, he turned down quick entries to the NBA to finish school, he's going to be a solid pick up for someone late 1st rd. or early 2nd looking for a SG

What wings do you like for the Nets? Gordon? Buddinger? Douglas-Roberts? Lee? Foster?
</div>

The lottery pick should be on the best available player, which in most cases will be a wing. I'm a big fan of both Batum and Gallinari.

For the later pick Foster, Sam Young and the underrated Kyle Weaver are of interest to me.
</div>

I would like to think Batum and Gallinari will be available when the Nets pick, but I doubt it. Gallinari is one of those international guys who move up very quickly just before the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the top 5. Batum, I can't imagine, will be there beyond #10. But they are high on my list as well. I saw Batum in the Hoops Summit last year and thought he was amazing. Have only seen highlights of Gallinari but what I saw I liked a lot.

For the second pick, I would not be surprised to see the Nets go for Devon Hardin, who they worked out last year and liked. Overall, I like this draft. Last year's draft was WAY overhyped. Instead of being one of the great drafts, it could turn out to be mediocre.

Hansbrough IS what the Nets need, in next years draft. No way he comes out this year so lets grab a swingman this year and then Hansbrough next year. I doubt he'll be a lottery pick b/c the NBA will question his size since he plays like a Center but had the body of a SF. He's the kind of energy and hustle we need on our team though.

I'll be surprised if the Nets don't end up with a top 10 pick so I allow myself to "dream" about the Nets landing one of the two.

As for Hardin, as much as I like him, it would be pointless for the Nets to draft him as they already have young big men with limited offensive games.

It's WAY too early to be making judgments on the 2007 draft. The only high pick who looks like he'll definitely be a bust is Hawes, and seriously, who didn't see that coming?

I don't know how to define "a great draft," but it still looks like there could be 20 or so rotation NBA players out of it, which I think would be pretty incredible.

Hansbrough just hit the possible game winner.

Don't worry guys. We'll go O.J. Mayo with our top 10 pick then a swing man with our other first rounder and another pure shooter who deserves a shot from a small school or Europe in the second round. Then next year we can get Hansbrough and LeBron in 2010. Its as simple as that

ummm i love han's game but do you guys think of kevin love's game? i feel like his post game is more polished than hans

Love's perimeter game is more polished than Tyler's, but Tyler is a great inside scorer.

ya... but love has some great post moves as well... hey i dont question tyler, but they are both undersized C's if they play the 5 spot in the nba

Well it's not like they're not allowed to play PF

Both Love and Hansbrough are PF's on the next level.

very true... well they will still struggle vs solid PF's in the NBA... i dont kno maybe im wrong just a feeling

but i dont question either guys hunger to win or effort... they both play with emotion and heart

Why do you feel they'll struggle on the next level?

(I thought this way about Hansbrough last year before he bulked up)

i mean they will struggle scoring at will but thats everybody, i think the person in this draft who is goin to make an impact right away is gordon... but of course it has to be on a team where they are given the opportunity to showcase their talent

Tyler Hansbrough will surprise people in the NBA...second coming of Carlos Boozer.
