What’s your better suggestion?
I voted for the last option give it time.

If there some nickname others like I'm open to it I just haven't heard anything good.

Maybe one comes up with his play during the year. "The Big Pass" or something after he has an epic highlight. Or a Timelord type one when he sleeps in for practice. Or something with translating/learning English, etc.

Or maybe he never gets one. What was Yao or Roy or LMA or Dame nicknames? If he becomes the real deal he may not need one.

Fair enough, I do agree with time there will be plenty of opportunities for new nicknames to surface.

Dame had a few. Remember early in his Career a lot of people were calling him Sub Zero. Dame Time/Lillard time.

When you look up what Yang actually means in Chinese, I think just calling him Yang or even The Yang makes a lot of sense.

And it actually means???

I believe that he’s referring to “yang” being a homonym of “goat” in Chinese.

羊 (yang) is goat or sheep in Chinese. But Hansen's surname is the 杨 character, which is also pronounced "yang", though the intonation may be different (not sure, since I'm not a Mandarin speaker)

No it doesn't mean goat, it doesn't have a one word translation into English.

It is the name of an idea for half of all things, this half includes masculinity, light, heat, a force for positive, activity and a bunch of other stuff... yin is negative, darkness, cold but that doesn't really matter for the purposes of this.

Yang is basically manly, fiery, positivity... but not in a toxic way because it means the bright side of things and a source of light as well.

Edit: There is a similar sounding word that means goat but it's character is 羊

The surname Yang is 杨 and is said to be the sun or a reference to the ancient philosophy I mentioned above.

the hook of this song gotta be played when he makes a big play

That's cheesy obviously. I'd much rather just hear a gong and have

on every video monitor in the building.

You have 3 seconds to answer the following question (just spit it out without thinking about it).

In 3 seconds the only thing that came to my mind was - The Riddler.

Seems appropriate too. Difficult to solve. He's got a few tricks up his sleeve.
