Pork belly bites smoking away. Which is a precursor for some ribeyes, corn on the cob and Yukon gold potato salad.

Finish it up with my wife’s strawberry shortcake cheesecake!

Proud Biden supporter and proud American!

no fireworks though. I’m sure some of the neighbors will be blasting off cannons

I'm still invited, right?

So you use Australian Gold?

Got the ooni out to cook up a big batch of pizzas later on tonight. Dough is on the rise, just finished cutting up some fresh basil, cooked up the italian sausage. Slicing some fresh mozarella and whipping up a batch of pizza sauce next

Happy 4th of July everyone.

I had a major setback in early March. I will post about it when I get the chance. I am nearly back to where I was before the setback. I also finally have a diagnoses.

Sitting in front of my AC unit. Made some popcorn in my new air popper. Not looking forward to the fireworks tonight, but the heat may also cause problems sleeping. Thankfully the fireworks usually only get bad for one night in my area. At least today, I feel better than I have in months. So it is a good day.

Glad it's a good day. Keep getting better.

Between heat and fireworks hard to sleep last night. Then my Hard Day's Night poster fell off the bedroom wall middle of the night. Not damaged but very loud thump.

Decided to go with pulled pork and it was incredible.

Just watched that (for the umpteenth time) yesterday. It bewilders me what most Americans get out of it. Even the subtitles don't get "come 'ead" right.

"I fought the war for your sort"
Ringo: "I bet you're sorry you won"

I love that movie.
The extras, the girls hired to be the audience in final scene, would all be over 70 now. I wonder if they ever watch?
Main thing, they looked so happy.

Isn't Phil Collins one of the kids?

Trump July 4th message.

And every headline I saw was about Biden's decline.

I confide in you guys a lot. Which is weird but I feel familiar with you random strangers.

So, last night I had a 4th of July get together at our place and had a few drinks. I have a super standoffish neighbor that I’ve talked about before.

He came outside to throw something in the recycling bin last night and was wearing a MAGA hat and I openly talked shit about it in my conversation with our guests. Loud enough for him to hear.

This guy is rudely standoffish to the point it’s disrespectful. Like literally looks away real quick when he sees us. We don’t need to be friends. I don’t want to be. I’ve caught the guy peeking over our fence being nosy on more than one occasion. But won’t even look our direction.

I have a healthy conscience so it’s kind of eating at me that I was being so rude.

So what’s your thoughts on this? If you’re wearing a political statement on your head you gotta accept the comments, good and bad right?

I realize I probably made it more awkward with him but that was a really low bar to begin with.

if he wasn’t such a douche towards us I probably wouldn’t have even cared.

If it were me I would wait until later in the summer, walk over to him, hand him a beer, and say something along the lines of, while it's clear that we don't agree on politics, if there is ever a problem or situation in the neighborhood you can always knock on my door.

If he wants to get into the politics just tell him the truth, you're a Teamster, UPS employee, you're blue-collar AF, and Trump hasn't shown you one policy that supports blue-collar guys like you.

Anyway, you always should have some relationship with your neighbors. Shit happens. My dad lives in Clackamas County, it's a real mix of political beliefs in his neighborhood, but a few summers they all helped each other through the wildfires and just last week a methy winnebago showed up and they all teamed up together to get rid of it.

If it were me I'd put his house up for sale and hope he gets an offer he can't refuse.

My friends (one trans, her wife is cis) have a neighbor who is very MAGA conservative, but quiet and keeps to himself. One night while we were hanging out, he knocks on our door and asks if we can help him move a dresser out of his car. We agree, and help him out. The real reason becomes apparent when he looks straight at the ground and starts talking: "I don't understand your kind, but this is a good neighborhood and I want to be peaceful with all the neighbors" etc. Dude looks terrified of us, like we were going to punch him and then give him HRT pills or something. We told him "hey its cool, you don't have to understand, just be kind to a neighbor." and he's been at least quiet ever since. He might go on a shooting spree at some point, but we will see.
