I'm well aware of who I responded to.
My post wasn't confusing at all.
Have a good day now yahear.
You don't get to tell me when I'm confused by a post. Only I can do that.
Your post was confusing to me and I need clarification.
By the way, no one gets to tell someone else what they are thinking or how they feel.

No one trick or treats around here, all the houses that typically have lights on at night were pitch black last night.

Yep, same here. When we first moved in the neighborhood there were kids all over the place with my 3 kids and now, many of the same owners are still here in their homes so pretty much all of the kids are gone. Not a single trick or treater last night.

Our lights were on. We're in an upper middle class neighborhood in the wealthiest town per capita in Oregon. We live right across the street from a high school and we had a grand total of 6 trick or treaters. I think the peak year since we moved here three years ago has been 8 trick or treaters.

What are we gonna do with all this damn candy?

I've never had a single trick-or-treater in the last 25 years. Kids stay away from the actual haunted houses.

I swear my wife goes out and puts a sign on my lawn saying no trick or treaters so that she gets all the chocolate.

Just because you're confused doesn't mean my post was confusing.
Every interaction I've had with you, since your return has been negative.
I assumed you'd stop talking to me when you said.
Hey, sorry I talked to you.
I even mentioned it in the post you were befuddled with.
Instead you continue.

As far as I'm concerned you're getting what you give.
You don't like that? Kick rocks.
Have a nice life now ya'hear?

We had a banner year for some reason, especially for a Wednesday night. We had 100-110 kids come through, the most in several years. We usually get 60-70. Probably helps that we’re over the top on outdoor decorations. And that we live in a development that is great for trick or treating. And that we give out the big size candy bars and always have (We’re starting to see former trick or treaters bringing their own kids through now. They remember.). And that it didn’t rain a drop. Good turnouts always make the effort of decorating (and putting it all back away) well worth it.

When the boy was home and still young we got together with several of his friends parents in town and set up pumpkin carving tables in one of their driveways...got non stop kids every year...now all the kids are gone and haven't done it in years...no kids come out to the woods where I live..slim pickens out here and too much driving.

No, you didn't. That's the confusing part. You answered a post that I couldn't see unless you erased my post that is normally quoted in such a reply. It appears that you were responding to the root post.
I thought I said or at least was clearly implied, without going back and studying the issue, that I was the one confused. I very very rarely try to speak for others.
However, if you find me particularly abrasive then I urge you to take advantage of the 'ignore' feature. That is what I'm now doing with you strictly because you can't seem to follow along with my line of thought.

I want to move to your neighborhood. My wife and I both love kids.

In the words of W. C. Fields -
"I like children. If they're properly cooked."
"Anyone who hates children and animals can't be all bad."
"There's no such thing as a tough child - if you parboil them first for seven hours, they always come out tender."
"Children should neither be seen or heard from - ever again."
"Yes I do like children ... Girl children...about eighteen or twenty."

Then come trick or treating at our place next year. The accompanying adults we know always get a “trick or beer”. Makes the rest of the slog through the neighborhood a little more cheerful........

We used to go caroling in Lake Oswego. We'd always get some sort of hot toddy. That was when I was young and neither knew nor cared that I've got the world's worst singing voice. The hot toddies erased any modesty.

Caroling on Halloween?!?
