I had it on all day but didn't catch every word. What did they say about gay parenting? Also- for all their talk of Trump having been elected, what about all the Democrats in the House?? The majority. They were all elected. But they never said a thing about that. That I heard.
One of the Congressmen praised Trump for an executive order allowing taxpayer funded adoption agencies to refuse to place children with same sex parents if Jesus tells them. This was one of his godly accomplishments.

Anyone figure out wtf Tulsi Gabbard was thinking yesterday?

"Following her “present” votes, Gabbard introduced a resolution calling for censure against Trump for abusing his office, in hope of “[sending] a strong message to this president and future presidents that their abuses of power will not go unchecked, while leaving the question of removing Trump from office to the voters to decide.”"

She admits that Trump's "abuse of power" should not "go unchecked" but she clearly failed to take a stand and vote that way.

This impeachment had nothing to do with the 2016 election. It's more of that strawman narrative the GOP has decided to take up as their part of their flimsy defense.

And so much talk yesterday about 63 million voted for him, but they forget that 74+ million voted AGAINST him.

Last night Trump spoke at a campaign rally. His campaign claimed 40,000 attended. The venue holds 6,500. But I will bet Trump, his supporters, and every Congressional Republican will say 40,000 people turned out to hear Trump the night he was impeached.

That's what scares me. Facts are now whatever Trump says. He even told people not to believe what they see and hear, just believe him. And they do. A reality TV host is now an infallible Messiah.

Most un-electable candidate in your lifetime? How old are you? Seven? At least Hillary won the popular vote. How was Walter "I'm going to raise taxes" Mondale more electable than Hillary? What about John Kerry and John McCain (because of Sarah Palin)? What about Dukakis? Hillary was the most experienced candidate of my lifetime and I'm 45. She was certainly more electable than most. She got 65 million votes. She lost the electoral college because of 60,000 votes in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. She very nearly won.

Trump and his supporters keep saying he won by a landslide. He did not. Another lie.

The only difference is that the Democrats in the House will have a clear conscience that they did the right thing regardless of outcome.
I fear that the impeachment will actually hurt the Democrats at the ballot box. But I have two thoughts on why this might actually not be bad:
1. I feel that the Democrats did the right thing regardless of what happens at the ballot box;
2. The public support for Trump will not substantially change and he will still get voted out in November.

Republicans in the senate will be seen as cowards when they don't find with the house. Several have already said they don't care what Trump has done and won't vote fairly or listrn to reason. Hopefully in November, many of them will be out too.

Tulsi is a wolf in sheeps clothing. She is really a republican.

That's the other part that makes no sense...if she's "a Russian plant" or a "closet Republican", why didn't she vote "no" on impeachment?

But to straddle the fence like she did makes no sense.

She isn't a Russian plant. She is a closet republican.

Because she would be at great risk for being voted out in a heavily Democratic Hawaii.

I seriously doubt her non-vote last night will sit very well with her Democratic Hawaiian constituents back home.

Besides, she's already announced that she will not be seeking re-election back home.

They need to do some sort of research/case study on the psychology of the trump cult because it’s amazing. He literally has become a god to people and at one point we would say they’d love him unless he was caught murdering someone in the middle of the street. But at this point I honestly don’t think that would change their minds. They’d blame the murder victim or say it wasn’t really a murder. It is scary. That many dumb and ignorant people? And of all people to submit to, the lying, pussy grabbing, below average intellect one? Very weird.

I hate Trump with a passion and want his butt out of office, but let's get real here. The Democrats in the House have a clear conscience? Seems questionable to me because nothing touts America's rule of law like a process where your political adversaries have total control of the so-called investigative stage, only allow their witnesses to testify, consistently leak things to the press during the "investigation", finally have a straight partisan vote to impeach, and, once the charges are filed, then threaten to hold the whole process up so that the accused is denied a trial. Yeah, I'd be proud to have that on my conscience. And as far as public support, the polls would seem to differ with your assessment:

There's a lot of road in front between now and November, but the Democrats seem to be making it more likely that we get four more years of Trump. Morons.

AND THEY ALL ARE POOR AND LIVE IN TRAILER PARKS. YOU ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THEM. IMAGINE IF YOU COULD CONTROL THEM ALL!

I honestly think about 80% of the population is absolutely useless. Politics be damned.

wait. So every republican they wanted to testify gladly accepted / White House agreed to? Or they said nah we’re good we aren’t testifying? Seems like quite a few just declined. Refusing to cooperate?

Mr. Natt (loved your game, BTW), I was clearly referring to requests by Republican members of the House to call witnesses of their own. Mr. Schiff declined to allow that to happen. Regarding the White House making use of claims of Executive Privilege to deny certain subpoenaed witnesses to testify, the House had a clear path to take that to court to force compliance, but declined to do so. Much too big of a hurry, you see, and the vote was in the bag anyway. Of course, now that the impeachment vote is done, that hurry seems to have evaporated. Curious.

They only cared to impeach so they can put a stain on Trump's Legacy, because honestly, that's the only thing they could do. They could care less about anything else. They care not about the country, patriotism, their civic duty. This was just them being mad about Trump as a person and him winning in 2016 and being able to say that he was impeached. Nothing more.

This was never genuine. It was just about slapping a label on Trump.

Trump does more than enough on a daily basis to stain his "legacy". He hardly needs help from House Democrats.

This whole debacle proves that there is a glaring need for one or more new political party(ies). The Clinton impeachment was pretty much a straight line partisan vote, as was this Trump impeachment. Having three or more parties would, hopefully, force the process to be somewhat less partisan.

meh. Not true. They didn’t create this, he did. How about he and his followers take some accountability for this? You can’t do what he did. Why is this hard to accept? There is ZERRRRO doubt that if Obama did this you all would be doing the same. The hypocrisy is astounding

Create what? There is nothing. This is such a sham.

I absolutely agree that if Obama had acted like this and done the things Trump has done Republicans would be losing their minds. The one thing I find fascinating and we'll never know is if everything was completely reversed would the Democrats be looking to block impeachment as well (in the senate).

We'll never know just as you said...but I think today is a bit of a hangover for Reps and there are a lot of knee jerk reactions. But I also think that after the dusts settles somewhat and people have more time to digest what has transpired, things will be viewed differently as part of the bigger picture.

Trump is the third party.

Now we need to replace the two thoroughly corrupt parties with legitimate representatives of the people.
