Because CJ and Plums are still on rookie contracts and the relatively low amount of Aminu's contract, we're going to be the only team in the league where our bench players make more than our starters.

Strange times.

Hopefully this doesn't cause problems in the locker room. I know it appears we have really good team chemistry, but when it comes to money, things can change quickly.

lol PA making it rain like no other. Reasonable contract, but who was Neil bidding against? Feel like he could have gone lower.

Meyers and Moe at $10M/year is like Aminu/Davis last year at around $7M/year with the change in the cap. It gives them a deep team, familiarity and the ability to make a consolidation trade for a front court impact player to balance out the back court.

Felt like he had to pay Moe a little more than Meyers, which he did (in incentives).

I don't think our locker room will have this problem...we have mature leadership in there

Stability...young talent for 4 years..Welcome back Mo! We're frickin' deep right now

Blazer fans have a tendency to overvalue players on the team. It's one of those "Soccer Mom" complaints that Simmons is actually somewhat on the mark.
Someone from the outside could look at the Blazers roster and say "Wow, other than Lillard and McCollum, what a bunch of scrubs!". Are they right or are we right? Probably somewhere in the middle. I think there's a lot of talent and potential on the Blazers roster right now, but I saw some stupid money being thrown at players who have only shown flashes on the court. Hopefully Neil and Stotts see this group as a sum greater than its parts, and that probably starts with the killer drive of Lillard, who is gonna will these guys to overachieve. Is it enough to contend for a title, or at least a WCF bid? I hope so, but I'm not putting any money down on it.

This is a great deal for the Blazers... When you factor in age, proven talent, potential, and length of contracts, Blazers are deepest team in NBA... I don't think you can argue otherwise. Blazers are in prime position to make a big trade mid season for an upgrade while maintaining depth. Good job Neil... I honestly believe he is the best GM in NBA. Look at the position we are in just 1 year after losing 4 starters... It's unbelievable

Can't imagine it will stay this way. However, we only need to be under the tax line at the end of the 17-18 season, so there will definitely be a trade in the next two years.

His estimate is low.

It's somewhat on the mark because you can say the exact same thing about literally every team. All fans have a tendency to overvalue players on their favorite team.

glad to see it, it's weird how the offseason went. we overpaid thru the nose IMO for Turner and Crabbe, probably a fair deal for Meyers, CJ was gonna get his so that was expected, Ezeli IMO was a good cheap deal, and Hark was very reasonable and could be a steal if he plays like he did in the playoffs

I am guessing he tried. That is why it took so long. I think Neil was bidding against the QO and losing him next year for nothing. Now if they did want to make a trade at the deadline, a young player like Harkless who is locked up for 3 1/2 years at that price will have value.....assuming he continues to play well. It is a gamble Neil seems confident in. Worse case scenario we have a nice player for 4 more years.

So if I read the kremlinology right, we have five years of our BIG GUYS (Dame and CJ) and four years of Everybody Else. That gives us Max Flexibility during the last year of Dame and CJ's contract to assemble a new team around them before re-signing them or blowing it all up. Clever.

Chris McGowan is ordering a forklift for the player’s locker room. It is to protect the players from back injury due to lifting their wallets. It is not easy to pack so many 50# boxes of $100 bills in one locker room.

Congrats, Mo! He deserves to get paid after the turnaround he made this year. Let's hope he keeps improving his game!

We haven't had this kind of bench depth in ages if ever...I don't see any Soccer Mom false joy in anticipating success...there's just more stupid money available this offseason so unlike some, folks need to stop thinking in 2010 dollars and realize, the money is changing and besides, it's not our money anyway...be as fiscally responsible as you want with your own budget but I'm glad to see Paul Allen prime the pump and keep players in town.
