The Warriors can get better players around Barnes (they NEED a point guard), they could challenge for the title in the coming years.

Like the way hes stepping up. Looks like hes developing that mid-range game that the "upside" part of the pre-draft scouting reports were suggestion. Hes not a great ball handler but the good first step and great athleticism will keep defenders off him enough to get that controllably-fading mid-range J off with ease. Spurs are making him take shots, and hes hitting them.

Yep he took his team to the playoffs avg 25 minutes and 9 points a game. There is a reason that Pops has no qualms about having Tony Parker guard Barnes.

If he starts consistantly hitting that mid-range jumper he is going to be in for a very nice sophomore year.

I like Barnes a lot. I like Lillard better. Without Lillard, we would probably go another 20 years without a decent Point Guard. In other words: no where. How sweet would it have been to have been able to swing both Lillard and Barnes. Now that would have been a young core with a long productive future.

Barnes only has a 14.4 PER in the playoffs this year, after an 11 PER in the regular season.

Comparing him to O'Neal and ZBO seems a bit of a stretch. The Spurs are daring Barnes to beat them while paying attention to Curry and Thompson. Sure he scored 26 points in Game 4, but it took him 26 shots to get there.

Um neither ZBo or JO contributed like this as rookies. Barnes is wayy ahead of them.

JO didn't do shiet in the playoffs until he was 23, ZBo didn't until he was 22. Barnes is 20. Give Barnes 2-3 years and see how he does.
