Doubtful Harrison would sign with Portland, maybe Boston or Minnesota though...

Would you care to identify any players on the free agent list that you believe would make us "better enough"?
The other guys mentioned would be a nice start to the list. Durant, Barnes, maybe Derozan, Horford...

I still think Harrison Barnes should be near or at the top of our target list for signings this summer!
Barnes
Durant
Drummond
Ryan Anderson

Should all get phone calls from us!

Problem with Barnes is that he's restricted. We need to pursue UFA's before we pursue RFA's. If we could get GSW to agree to a sign and trade of some sort for him, I'd be completely on board.

If he is going to leave a dynasty type team I don't think he wants to be a second fiddle type of player. He would definitely be behind Dame in Portland. Minnesota is close to his home in Iowa and it is a team of young players and none of them have broken out to be the man yet. Boston is a major market and no huge star there as well. Isaiah Thomas is good, but not a star.

Why try to trade for Barnes and give up assets, when you can go after derozan and Parsons with no assets given

Chicago might be on that list as well. Hoiberg and him have the Ames High School connection and it's close to home for him. Barnes and Butler could be a good duo. Now I'm just thinking out loud.

Point taken, although I do think Dame is one of the few players in the NBA that Barnes might willingly play second fiddle behind. Emphasis on "might."

I specifically reference S&T in contrast to just signing him to an offer sheet that GSW could just go and match. Basically, UFA > S&T > RFA. As for the two you mention, Derozan's going to be much more expensive and has a suspect outside shot. Parsons feels like an injury risk to me, although he wouldn't be a terrible option.

Between the 3, I think I'd go Parsons, Barnes (S&T), Derozan in order of preference.

I have an inside connection to Barnes as well and they keep mentioning Minnesota and Boston as possibilities.

I really hope some team offers Barnes a MAX contract this summer - and that it's NOT us. Man, that guy just kinda sucks. He's not going to magically blossom if he gets out from under the Curry/Klay/Green shadow.
Yeah I'll stick with Crabbe, thank you very much. Especially for the money.

Barnes has been nothing but a below average player in the NBA thus far. Maybe he could blossom into a good rotation guy, but so far he's not been that

Statistically speaking Barnes isn't much of an upgrade from Harkless, and even less of an upgrade from Aminu.

I mentioned a few months ago we would get plenty of opportunities to evaluate him in the playoffs. Personally I think he is a decent player, just not the answer for us....in order to take the next step.

I can't wait for some awful team in the East to offer him a ton of cash and then have instant buyer's remorse. My bet is on the Hornets.

And Soup Juggler was picked over Dame that year. Oops. (So was Thomas Robinson)

Soup Juggler killed whatever chance OKC had last night, then GS was off to the races. Not that it's all his fault, but he looked pretty bad.

I think there's going to be a lot of that happening this summer. Barnes and Biyombo will be high on that list, IMO.

I'd still take T-Rob over any PF we have on our team right now

What's sad is Soup Juggler has been head-and-shoulders better than Barnes!

I can see talent in Barnes. He's not being used to his fullest capability with GSW's.

I have modified my wish list for summer....mostly from being more informed about the cap and our space.
My wish list is:
Durant - though I do not believe he will leave Thunder. They might win it all.
James - though I do not believe he will leave Cleveland. He likes his home State.
Whiteside - best chance at a player wanting to leave his current team. Big man! Fits age and skills needed.
Howard - will have to plug my nose a bit, but he brings rebounding and blocks and low post presence that we don't have.
Barnes - is better than Aminu/Harkless and is poised to be next MIP. We'd be better with him taking all the open 3's. Fits age and skill.
Horford - solid but unspectacular. Would make us better. But isn't enough to take us to Championship level IMO.
Drummond - doubtful that he would NOT be matched by Pistons.

Otherwise, trade CJ, Aminu, Plumlee to Kings for Cousins. Sign a mid-level FA. Run with Lillard - Henderson - Harkless - Leonard - Cousins.

Exactly. T Rob had 3 bone headed plays for every good one.

Yeah, I don't get it. I don't understand how a poster that's always talking about players passing the "eye test" can actually like Thomas Robinson's game. He'll get a couple highlight reel blocks or put back dunks per season, but he's always losing his man on defense, making stupid unforced turnovers, committing stupid fouls and can't make a FT to save his life. He will never be a starting PF in this league and as a back up PF, I'd take Ed Davis any and every time.

Ed reminds me a lot of Joel Przybilla. He's limited, but what he does, he does VERY well. He knows his limitations and doesn't try to force himself to do more than he is capable of doing. He's the anti-TRob in that respect and it's why:

Ed Davis:
TS% = .611
ORtg = 128
DRtg = 104
Delta = +24

Thomas Robinson:
TS% = .453
ORtg = 94
DRtg = 105
Delta = -11
