Really??? You'd take him over Ed Davis? Why????

BNM

Certainly no statistical reason. I just really loved the way he played. Their numbers are pretty similar per 36, in fact points and rebounds favor T-Rob. Davis shoots way better and has a much higher PER. Like I said, no rationale for it. I just liked him. Just a ball of energy

Trob had serious energy. The kind of energy Nico could have used and if he had it could have been an all star. But energy doesnt always equate to good/solid play. Nor does it translate to BBIQ. TRob wont be in the league much longer and is ONLY in the league because he might be in the top 5 in the league as far as energy is concerned. The moment he loses a step he will be done.

PF is a hard position to evaluate because it has changed over the last few years. They have to be able to guard multiple types of players. We need an Aminu and we need an Ed Davis. Hopefully Vonleh can develop into a combination of the two.

Unfortunately, as dviss1 noted, that unharnessed energy leads to a very large number of boneheaded plays that hurt his team. The guy has way more "d'oh!" moments per-36 than Meyers Leonard.

I'll take Steady Eddie any day of the week over the PF that shoots .447 FG%, .431 FT% and commits twice as many TOVs per-36.

I like Ed Davis off the bench. I'll like him more if he bulks up as he promised. I'm not going to hold my breath on the free throws, though. ;)

I really hope some team offers Barnes a MAX contract this summer - and that it's NOT us. Man, that guy just kinda sucks. He's not going to magically blossom if he gets out from under the Curry/Klay/Green shadow.
Essentially what I've been sayin'

I still like TRob. He was doing very well for the Nets at the end of the season. He's a hard worker. I think he could have been fine as a backup energy guy coming off the bench.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but having Will and TRob coming off the bench this year would have been great. They would have fit right in. With that said, I'm fine with how things turned out, and I like Vonleh. I think he could end up a much better player than TRob.

I wonder if Will would have been the Aminu of our bench. Wild crazy dribbles, but can get hot, but just not as good defensively.

I would have gladly taken Will over Hendo. I thought Hendo did okay, but Will was always in attack mode. Hendo got really annoying with those forced pull-up jumpers.

Personally I hate turnovers more than missed shots. At least with a missed shot it had a chance to go in... unless you're deandre jordan from anywhere beyond 2 feet.

Scope out the PER 36 my man. Wild Will schools Hendo. Better TS% and similar turnover numbers. More rebounds, more assists, etc

Thrill was a bit out of control at times but it has gotten better. He does attack, can score in a number of ways and is versatile in several areas. Hendo has a 1-2 dribble pull up jumper ONLY going to the right. When that is taken away, he becomes instant hesitation.

I still think barnes would shine with more offensive freedom. He's going to be a good signing for someone as long as he doesn't get max

I agree. He is a decent 3 & D SF. Not spectacular..... but solid
But like you said....for the right price.

Trouble with Barnes he had the big hype coming out of HS and never live it up.

Vonley? He hasn't shown much yet, but he is a prototypical power forward.
You mean the drifting out to launch threes part or the disappears for games at a time part? :ghoti: Because I can see where Blazers fans would see those as hallmarks of a PF.

This makes me think of Tracy McGrady's comment when he heard that Bradley Beal might get the max: "If he's a max player then I'm coming back!"

Starting to think it would be better for us to sit this free agency out if we whiff on obvious superstars. If we try to sign somebody of an Ed Davis or Aminu level, we'll have to pay them twice what Davis and Aminu got, and that can't help chemistry.

Trob had serious energy.

That's like commending a chicken with its head cut off for its running skills: Yes, but...

The kind of energy Nico could have used and if he had it could have been an all star.

This is such a myth. Amazing that Batum managed to lead the league in distance traveled on the court with so little energy.

The part where he rolls to the basket after a switch and pins a 6'1" PG on his hip under the hoop like he is supposed to, calls for the ball.....and never gets it because only our guards shoot the ball.

I wouldn't mind bringing everyone but Kaman, Roberts, and Henderson, and signing 3 guys for depth. Therefore if we trade some guys for a star at the deadline we'll still have the depth.
