Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

Every player needs to work on something in their game, especially if they're a Blazer, and the "experts" here can pick apart their games on a daily basis. Thanks for the expertise. It's as valid as anyone else's here.

Actually it's not s valid as mine, but whatever...

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

He needs to work on

1. Going to his right

2. Splitting defensive traps

3. Finishing at the rim

4. Defensive pressure

Before we should start throwing out the "star" word
If he doesn't tighten up his PG play, he's gong to have 10 turnovers the first time he plays Westbrook. Still, I think Lillard (and Leonard) was absolutely the right pick and IMO we FINALLY have the elusive PGOTF. For Blazers fans, this is akin to finding Bigfoot.

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

How many if his turnovers were cause by himself vs caused by teammates?

I think having a better set of teammates will help a lot.

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

After seeing Barnes play in person at SL, I'm not worried at all about passing on him for Lillard. His game reminds me of Antawn Jamison at best. Solid but not a superstar.

I think of it slightly differently. Basically, he has 1 bad game assist and turnover-wise (game 3). Take out that bad game and his assists:turnovers were 18:8, which is quite good. The impressive thing to me wasn't that he was perfect, it was that he was able to correct his mistakes.

Yeah Westbrook be a tough go... on the other hand I'm looking forward to watching Steve Nash guarding him

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

I hope no one is taking this as "I don't like him, or would rather have Barnes" I just think he needs to work on a couple of things before we should be thinking he is a star.

I get it ... you just don't like him do you? Why do you hate Lillard's game so much?

You think a rookie PG still has things to learn? Jeez dude - why do you hate America? :tsktsk:

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

Hell no. I'm sure I was watching games before you were born to be honest. I know when I see greatness. I see it in him.

Jesus, did you really just pull the "Look here sonny" card? If you're hell bent on calling him a "star" I can't stop you, but you're making the word pretty much meaningless when you'll throw it out this freely. I guess I have to ask, is Josh Selby a "star" too?

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

i was watching basketball before josh selby traveled back in time and impregnated his own mother, and josh selby is a star dammit.

Josh Selby has had a pretty amazing life at such a ripe young age, eh?

No Josh Selby is not. If you don't want to get on the train then fine. There will be room for you later. Sonny.

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

Hey, I get it. We have been burned, gut-punched, and shit-on so often that feeling optimistic seems suicidal. I haven't seen any reason to hate the pick....but it is going to take time to actually convince me.

That said, I have sympathy for the fans who want to believe. At least the Omen hasn't failed us yet - and with this team, what else do we have to cling to?

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

So this is what insomnia is like. I forgot all about this thread, but now that I can't sleep I find it.

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

Btw, I didn't bump it to go "ha you suck" (because we all have comments/threads we've made we regret. 85% of my posts are in that catagory), but instead because in my sleep deprived brain, it was an interesting thread.

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

This post is foolish. Harrison Barnes, by body of NBA work, is NOT a better pick than Lillard.

When Lillard gets ROY you will be eating this post.

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

Well, I finally read this thread. Treaty of Batum was right. Olshey lied that he would draft Best Player Available. This is true even if, at the moment he drafted, he thought Lilliard was BPA. How can that be, you say? Because everyone (media, agent, etc.) knew days in advance that Olshey would take Lilliard no matter what (according to links in this thread, and also everything we read right before the draft) (Leonard, too, knew he'd be a Blazer, since he wore Blazer colors to the draft, like Lilliard).

Olshey, like Pritchard used to, fixated on a player and drafted him regardless of any available surprise players still undrafted. But at least Pritchard had the sophistication to make trades and move us up. Olshey approached this draft wiith a big Duh on his face, told everyone exactly who he wanted, and made no trades. A simple person.

This all sounds like a load of crap.

Re: Harrison FUCKING Barnes

Nice stat line..... Read they were thinking of starting Rush over him....... I'd let this kid play 35 minutes a night.
