Harsh reality

We've only played one game. your pretty easily impressed. :)

That's why I'm not concerned. The first half really showed me something. I mean I really dont think we can play that bad again like we did in the 3rd quarter. Cj is going to get his points this time he rarely goes bad more than a game.

I think the first game jitters are gone now and I'm almost certain we will win game 2. I'll give a more definite answer tmr

If we can pull a win out of game two, I will be very surprised. I would have thought that game one would have been our best shot. But after reading what you said. I tend to agree. Maybe the deer in the headlights feeling has passed and we can focus more tomorrow.

Except...How are you going to deal with the biased refs if its a close game?

I think you'll see less biased reffing in this game. A 4-game sweep does nothing to help TV ratings. Remember, the NBA is a business. A couple extra games in the LA TV market is worth millions.

I did not say that. We're young and in need of assets, but it became very clear that with Dame and a very weak West, losing that pick was an inevitability. Make the best of that situation now.

Predicted 1 win in the playoffs in the game thread. I actually think we can sneak away 2 wins. Only 2 teams have a legit shot at a title this year anyway, so I have no problems with losing in the first round. We have already over achieved this year.

This has been debunked.

Monroe for the Cavs pick.

In the back of my mind I feel like this trade is an inevitability.

I don't know how I feel about it....

The Cavs pick is going to be Garbage. I'd much rather have Greg Monroe than that selection. Guys harp on his D but in my opinion he only needs a shot blocking Center behind him.

It would be different if we actually had something to show for the pick. You'll notice that nobody is kvetching about giving up the pick that brought us Plumlee.

Phrasing the issue as play-offs vs pick is rather silly since losing the pick did nothing to contribute to the team's surprise success. People need to stop linking the issues.

I will now put away my soapbox.

No one cares about that pick because RHJ got injured and he's a much lesser asset than Plumlee.

I think Dame is the only guy who has the right mindset about the playoffs. The rest of the team looks shaken and shell shocked.

Sometimes I think the harsh reality is that people are coming to the reality of the harsh reality. ;)

I thought the same thing... especially with Aminu repeatedly missing his go to shot (3 on the side) wide open. And CJ won't have two bad games in a row. I don't know if they'll win Wednesday night but they'll play a lot better.

Best of 5 series was always better the best of 7 series.

I loved it when they went to a 7 game series in the first round and still do... you get 8 games every weekend and 2 every night. I'm livin' the dream right now!

There is no harsh reality to me in this. The Clippers did what you would expect and experienced team to do vs an inexperienced one, they put a ton of pressure on our stars and made our role players beat them and our role players shit the bed by missing easy layups, plumlee, and wide OPEN 3's Aminue/Harkless.

Best of 5 series made it better for upsets to happen.

Sure.

I would contend though that allowing the Clippers to continue to get away with that kind of conduct without reprimand could very possibly affect the outcome of the series.

You know, I was thinking more about the regular foul calls but when I started thinking about the missed technical I came around to your thinking. Dviss pointed out a 2nd play where DeAndre should've been T'd up. That would've gotten him kicked out and would have totally changed the game.

By not relying on the refs, by taking the best FG percentage shots you can...shot first free throws second

I feel like we've been heroic. After considerable effort, we've made it to the base camp of Mt. Everest! Are we ready to go further? Probably not, but we'll never know because some jackasses stole our supplies.

That sucks, but the real worry is that the jackasses might just be around next year, too.

Well, we have had two days of practice to adjust to what they have been doing. (I'm trying to get myself pepped up but then I start to think "What if Rivers does something completely different this game?")

And CJ and Leonard ( not playing, I know) and Crabbe(didnt play last year, but felt the experience)

I'm too lazy to research it, but I bet most of these guys have been to the NCAA play-offs, where every game is an elimination game. If they could handle that as teenagers, they should be able to handle this as adults!

Especially Plums at Duke.

He played in 16 NBA playoff games prior to Sunday, albeit with limited minutes.
