Hassan finds a home

I wonder how much he gets paid for that gig and why he did not choose the D-League..

Yeah one would think the NBDL is better is most regards to the Italian version. Hopefully he tears it up out there and moves on quickly

Actually, the team he plays for is in Italy's Lega2, which isn't anything like the D-League.

The D-League is a minor pro league that works in a farm system with the NBA (which in simple english means that teams from the NBA can call up/send players from and to the D-League).

Lega2 is the second division in Italy (SerieA is the first division, B1 is the third). The top 2 teams from the league get promoted to the SerieA, the bottom two fall to B1. It's a stand-alone league, unlike the D-League that has a parent league (the NBA).

My guess is that Ignis Novara (Ignis is a sponsor's name, Novara is the city) are paying Adams more money than a D-League team would so that's why he went there. Too bad they're in 2nd to last place in the league (2-7). Horace Jenkins, who was on the Pistons roster that reached the NBA Finals and lost in 2005, played for them a few years ago.

best of luck to hassan. liked the guy but he is just in a tough position because he doesnt have good handles or a jumper. yeah he came in with energy but if it didnt rub off on his teammates he really did nothing. granted he was a rookie and i would have liked to see him progress in a nets uni, but this is better for hassan. he can now really concentrate on his skills and hope to impress a scout and get an invite to someones camp next year.

Yes, yes it is. All basketball leagues in Europe are setup like that, too.

No problem, I love sharing knowledge of the European leagues. It's pretty much the same game, but it's a whole different world of basketball.

Go get 'em Hassan! It may be halfway across the world but that might be even better for him in the longrun. Maybe getting the chance to be the a main man again will help him too.

He will certainly be the man on that team. Maybe he can learnthe languageand be able totrash talk with Kobe in Italianthe next time he guards him.

I believe he was just introduced that game so looks like a golf shirt with team logo.

His first game will be on the 8th.

Do it Thron!

Great percentages, too. This is pretty crazy awesome.

This is a guy who started for an NBA team last year, can't be that surprised

I'm still a bit surprised as to why he finds himself in the q-side league of leagues, but such is life.

Playing overseas builds character and puts guys like Hassan in positions he might not find himself in in leagues like the D league that are full of guys doing all they can to show off for NBA teams. I think this is a good move for him and I bet the paycheck isn't too shabby either comparatively.

He's not just doing good, he seems to be a great guy too.

I'd the chance to meet him a couple of times since he went to Italy, and I've to say that he's a smart guy, soft speaking, always saying the right thing in the right moment; he's one the friendiest american player I've ever meet in the last years.

Beside that, he knows that play in Europe in a team where he's the absolute and undisputed leader is a great thing for his career. He is not on only earning good money (much, much more than in D-League), but he seems to know that if he plays great as he's done on Sunday (here you can find the the boxscore of his first game) won't to difficoult for him find a spot on the first league, here in Italy or in Spain for the play-offs which are scheduled after the second league is over. And in the premiere leagues in Europe a good player can earn good money even compared with the Nba and if he'll succeed, he can came back to the Usa as a better layer... Look at Raptor's Anthony Parker...

Than you for the tip Peg182. I tryed to embed the videos, but with no luck. As I was in a hurry I didn't read the Faqs nor the posting guide.

Hope that in next days I'll post on Youtube more Hassan's videos. If so, I'll keep you informed about that. If this is not too boring for you over there... :-)

Your welcome.

You met him?? That's amazing. I'm pretty jealous.

He became a quick fan favorite on these boards. He's a good, hardworking hustle player who in my opinion was unfairly cut. I wish the best of him there and hope he keeps leading that team. I hope he does make back to the NBA sooner or later...I'm sure the Nets could use him as an energy/defensive/hustle player right about now.
