Have ROY's knees deteriorated again?

Mentally, Roy needs to control the offense or he makes mistakes, as he has been making. When he can't slow down the tempo, he makes unforced turnovers. If he's not the team star, he is much much less of a player.

That's true for a lot of players. Losing 50% of his talents made him 25% of the player he was. The regression is geometric, not arithmetic (adjective form is pronounced ar-ith-MEH-tic).

But McMillan is good at figuring out the best situations to play role players who are good at some things but not at other talents (Outlaw, Blake, etc.). Maybe Roy will last.

It's time to part him out.

4 years ago.... We were the team to be feared!!! A blooming B Roy, a once in a lifetime center in GO and a versatile PF in LA! Our big three were set for the next decade!

Sometimes all you can do is laugh! How many other teams have lost this type of talent so quickley and still hung on to their fans and are even sniffing the playoffs?

The big three now will be LA, Wallace, and GO if he comes back.... and that's not all bad with Andre, Nick, Marcus and Wes supporting them! Our team has rolled with the punches for sure and so have the fans!!

For those of you that either don't want to believe it, or haven't paid attention, Roy's knees are bad and will never be better. They are bone on bone and will never be the same. Every so often Brandon will be able to have a good game, but this is what he is, and will never be different. His knees have deteriorated as much as they can since they are bone on bone.

I think someone needs to tell NATE this too!!!!! He like many here think the old BRoy will just take over a game! Sadly B Roy is hurting this team and the last two games its been painfully obvious!

Honestly, I don't begrudge B-Roy the money at all.

I just wish it didn't count against Portland's cap.

There's the rub. This was a legit, basketball related injury. Financialy, the team owes Roy compensation......would they shouldn't have to owe him, is a crippling handicap to the team's ability to compete.

Yah, the mental mistakes are DEFINITELY related to his physical condition. If you have ever played with a major knee/foot injury, you know this to be true. His body can no longer accomplish what his mind still knows how
to do. Yet he tries, holding on to hope that he can still regain at least some form of his past self. You try to compensate, then mistakes happen.

exactly. Outside of a medical miracle procedure being developed shortly, I don't know of any reason to hope that anything is going to change with Brandon's ability to contribute. If this is true, how long does the team keep giving him meaningful minutes? Dude had all last offseason to heal up plus he took a significant break during this season. If things really aren't going to significantly change for the better for him, I'd rather he improve his chances of staying out of a wheelchair in his mid to later life. The current mix of extended stretches of mortality with occasional flashes of BR of old are tough to watch... I'd really prefer more of the Rudy and Patty show
