I've been doing some research on this new PRP treatment.
that treatment was enriched blood platelets (one's own) Brandon had injected in both knees when he had his recent "clean up". It's an interesting new field and their is great hope for the relief of osteoarthritis and it's fast healing properties, especially in areas where blood flow is limited.
There have been some very good results in "average" folks as far as lessening of pain and resuming normal activities compared to being severely limited before that. Some seem to respond very well and others not much - so that might be problematic.
I'm thinking if Roy responds well he could return and actually play well and in much less pain - the key will be for how long? a few games? weeks? months?
Now if he responds well this could be something done for the rest of his career. Note that there are NO side effects that have been seen so far in this therapy as it's your own blood that has simply been "spun" and enriched.
I am a "bit" more hopeful for a at least a perhaps somewhat effective return then I have been before - if he does return how well this treatment and hence his knees hold up to the rigors of pro basketball is the huge question.
