the differential between Nurk & Plumlee's salary is too much and I don't see realistic deals between the two teams that can bridge the gap while keeping Portland under the tax line

Plumlee is a limited player but he does a lot of things well. More than that, he is much more consistent than Nurkic. He's an expiring contract and will be 33 this summer. But I kind of like the thought of exchanging Nurk's 18M/year deal this summer for Plumlee + Eubanks at 10-11M/year

Nurk + Winslow for Plumlee + Oubre (who is injured right now) works but it puts Portland 2M over the tax line. Adding Keon keeps Portland out of the tax but it's a risk because Winslow & Keon are the only two 'backup' PG's on the roster

so then, how many here would say yes to Nurk + Winslow + Keon for Plumlee + Oubre?
Hmm not familiar with oubre but if he could fill the keon and Winslow minutes?

I think we still need an ogre for those games against joker and the other larger centers.
But that can be with an mle or vet min or something. Bring back whiteside as a backup backup?

If I'm Chauncey I'd give Nurk the Roco treatment and bring him off the bench....start Drew and see if he accepts the bench role or whines his way out of Portland until he proves he's willing to run with the pack and stay engaged....in the words of Chauncey....put an address on it
This is silly. I know Drew is fun to watch, and has some great blocks, but he is just not a center. He can move better than Nurk and certainly jump better than Nurk, but he's worse on both offense and defense. Unless your plan is to be the Westhead Nuggets, Nurk should start when healthy.

Maybe but 3 games ago he had a monster game. Albeit it was against SA with no center. But still, that stat line was great
10-14, 2-4 from three, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals....that would not hurt his trade value

and the B2B Mavs games in Portland. Dallas was missing most their players over 6'7, Nurk feasted on the featherweight Center C.Wood. Next night, 6'8" Bullocks (stretch 4) was Mavs biggest guy. A resurgent Bosnian Beast dominated a few games against tiny opponents. Played so hard his leg gave out.

I want to start off by saying Portland was in a no win situation when it came to Nurk and re-signing him they could not afford to let him walk for nothing but someone in the front office had to have known that Nurk at best is a solid player at this point cause of injuries / injury prone . Also the fact he thinks he is a better player and deserves more cause of that opinion that is not true at this time in his career cause the way i see him is he will show 5 to 10 games a season where we go THAT"S the Nurk we want then the rest it's average or worse.

I think the Blazers should try and trade him and the fans who still think he has some great value need to know at best and longshot at that is the Blazers will get 75% of what some think he is worth and the team would be lucky to get 50 to 60% of that value and this is a fact.

The lees from the bottom of my wine bottle were too blurry to make out. I'll try another bottle.
