Maybe but 3 games ago he had a monster game. Albeit it was against SA with no center. But still, that stat line was great
10-14, 2-4 from three, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals....that would not hurt his trade value

The rest of the games did so the 1 game with subpar competition doesnt hold up

I think if the team had a decent 7 footer who was on the team, Nurk (if not traded) would have to be the backup.

It opens things up to bring LMA out of retirement to start at center. Lillard, Durant, and LMA can all fight for the title of Greatest Blazer Ever after we win the championship.
You definitely need Jeebus. I see no other way to save you now.

We’re thriving without him. Shocking!
It's like Chauncey's defense needs a guy who can actually move and on offense Nurk is wildly inconsistent both moment to moment and game to game.

Nurk is a good C for a team that thinks they can coach away his idiotic tendencies on offense and has a drop coverage scheme on D... they should still have a mobile big that can split minutes with him and start over him against certain lineups. With Chauncey never ever going with drop coverage and always switching everything Nurk's defensive excellence is severely diminished and that only makes his offensive bullshit more exhausting.

My thoughts pretty much to a T.

I am ready to move on from Nurk, don't expect much back, gonna be a small market for him

Portland would really have to make Nurk attractive by including extras in a deal. Boston is looking for a big but they have no apparent interest in Nurk. It was the wrong move to give him thay deal. Therefore I have no confidence that Joe can unload him. I fully expect Joe to get fleeced with Hart too. Probably get back a second rounder for him.

If by "we" you mean: Kristaps Porzingis, Nikola Vucevic and Andre Drummond, then your statement is true.
We definitely are getting hurt by our lack of size right now... I'm not sure it's hurting us more than Nurk's lack of mobility when he's playing. This isn't me saying that Nurk is a net negative or even net neutral as an NBA player but he is a net negative the way Chauncey has him playing.

I think the idea was either he works out or his contact is very moveable with the new upcoming tv deal

that would be the final year of the contract. Have to 'endure' 2.4 more seasons of Nurk before then....youch!

I think everyone is aware of it, so some people might be willing to trade for him earlier, but sure.

Quite often in these cases gms have to overpay a bit if there is a chance it works. I suspect that is exactly what happened here

Joe did not screw up by giving Nurk that money he had to sign him or get nothing in return and if fans do not get that they are kind of silly. If Joe would have let Nurk walk and got nothing fans would have been ripping into him for that sometimes you cannot win being a GM of any team. I love how backseat GM's think they know more then everyone else and sure it is fun to play around with ESPN trade machine etc but we the fans how ZERO clue how it really is.

I don't think it's that he signed him. It is that he, like Neil, signed him to that 4th year on the contract.

Also it's not like Nurk is playing like garbage cause big men that have skills you have to pay a little of a premium for them so Cronin was between a rock and a hard place and fans need to realize this instead of being so critical when he was in a no win situation.

He didn't have to pay him 18 a year.

The 4th year wasn’t optimal … at all. It was the cost of not having a contract of that size to trade versus not having it, losing an above average big man, and not having cap room to replace Nurk. Cronin did what was necessary.

The one team who should be interested because they have no size at center, is actually Toronto. Doesn't mean they are interested, but there is more of a need there than most teams.

True. The only team I can think of with less size is the Blazers.

Scottie Barnes 6-9
Chris Boucher 6-9
Pascal Siakam 6-9
OG Anunoby 6-7
Christian Koloko 7-1
Thaddeus Young 6-8
Juancho Hernangómez 6-9
Precious Achiuwa 6-8
Dalano Banton 6-9
Khem Birch 6-9

they have a surplus of length. They lack some mass at C for those situational match-ups

Nurkic with 1 or 2 years left after this season at 12-13M/year would have decent trade value; maybe even good trade value. But out-with-a-hamstring-injury Nurkic with 3 years left on his deal at 18M/year might not have even neutral value right now. I mean, how many teams are currently searching for a traditional C being paid 170% of the full MLE?

My post was supposed to have been a joke based on the fact that the Blazers need Nurk’s size more than the Raptors. Nurk is valuable against teams with similar lumbering bigs. Not so much against teams with mobile centers. As you said, I’d be surprised if there was a ton of interest in him. BTW, it’s a calf injury, not a hamstring, and I doubt it would factor much into trade value calculus, but what do I know?

I guess I got his hamstring confused with his calf. A bad hamstring injury is probably worse than a bad calf injury. But the timing kind of sucks

and, the problem with having a C good against other lumbering C's is that there are fewer of those every season
