<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NTC187:</div><div class="quote_post">Thanks. I mean I'm quite capable of defending myself, I workout and I have a punching bag I use alot, but I'm not one to just go around smashing people or starting things for no reason. Like some of the fights i've seen have been over the most stupid things, and the people involved end up with broken noses, hands, police records etc. It's not worth it. And especially today when a large portion of teenagers carry around knives and other such instruments. I had an encounter once where I almost got stabbed by this guy and I didnt even say or do anything to him.
Also props to you for protecting your friend like that, doesnt sound very fair that you got suspended though.</div>
You and I are a lot alike in that sense as I too work out a lot and try to stay in good shape. I'm fit enough to play pro Rugby Union, but for my size even back in High School I wouldn't go about picking fights with people. What the hell for? As you've mentioned, the majority of fighting is over the dumbest reasons imaginable. For instance many people that threaten you or something and they will get in your face. Why hit them? All of them back off, at least all of which I've ever dealt with have because they're actually scared and try to position themselves with authority. You can show your own authority by simply doing nothing, unless you have to defend yourself that is. However, that's entirely different.
In some instances even stabbing each other with knives over some kind of small thing that could've been resolved with a conversation it sad. You just stop to think about it sometimes and say to yourself, "I can't imagine for what reason life should be thrown to waste for such pitiful BS." Sadly though this world is full of weirdoes like that, I had to deal with that even when I was a little kid. If you want to discuss some things I have some more stuff you'd probably find interesting, but I'd prefer not to discuss them on the forum.
As for that suspension; the school had to do it. I thought it wasn't fair myself at first, but when I think back to it now and how he looked like afterward I consider myself lucky not to have been expelled. But that damn bastard deserved it. I consider myself to be a pretty laid back person with a good temper control, but there are three things that piss me off more than anything else - Someone that would: hurt women; hurt children; hurt animals.
