Um, you said "most of America" has watched the video, not "most of the sportstwo.com Blazer board. Or is your plan to have all of America vote in this thread?

Did somebody get their feelings hurt? Please make the mean man go away.

Reading is fundamental. Perhaps you should be in summer school?

That's true. You said most of America. That, I do not believe either. More than 50% of America have probably never even heard of her.

Of course it is true that under 50% of Americans have watched the video. Only 30% of Americans watch the Super Bowl, for Pete's sake.

A poster not having an emotional temper tantrum that lead to him creating a poll that has nothing to do with what I said would be able to see this. I think it's the guilt he's feeling within himself over repeatedly watching a woman having her privacy invaded. :)

Yep.

That's one hell of a sentence.

Yeah, it sure is, isn't it? The lack of commas seems so odd, yet it's OK. I had to read it more than once to udnerstand it, and I wrote it. :)

Thanks for sharing that, Ed. The producers are resorting to nitpicking my posts for suspect grammar. Substantive stuff, esquire. :devilwink:

So far, 13 people (all Americans? Not sure.) have voted Yes. 3 have voted no. I haven't voted, and another poster cast the wrong vote.

Still waiting to hear from the other 303,824,624 Americans before we can call this one. Should be a long night.

They are? Well, then, I need to get in on this action. I refuse to be left out.

You wrote: "So far, 13 people (all Americans? Not sure.) have voted Yes."

There shouldn't be a period after "Not sure" since it was a parenthetical note within a sentence. The question mark was correct because it was required to indicate a question.

Actually, the period is fine since it's an answer to the question in the parenthetical. A conversation within another sentence. A question, followed by an answer, and then back to the sentence. The "Not Sure" is the actual problem in the sentence as it is a fragment, but intent was obviously derived by you, since you did not mention it in your post.

Not the case. Sentences with a period shouldn't be inside a parenthetical within a sentence. Question marks and exclamation points are okay simply for the sake of tone (making the note questioning or excited), but periods only belong in a parenthetical if it's not within a sentence. (Like so.)

Here, if you don't believe me:

Punctuation within parentheses

If your parentheses enclose a sentence-within-a-sentence, don't use a period within the parentheses. Do, however, use a question mark or an exclamation point if it is called for.

No.

It's more interesting to me if this is like one of those celebrity sex tapes that leak out from time to time to get some PR (any PR is good PR) for the celeb.

If you take her at her word, it's a downright sleazy and criminal thing that was done to her.

CliffsNotes? No wonder you missed the sentence fragments. ;)

I tend to agree that most "celebrity" sex tapes are put out there on purpose, but I think this wasn't the case with Erin Andrews. In her line of work I'm sure she works her ass off to try and prove to people that she doesn't just have that job because she's fine as hell. For celebrities who are famous for no reason (Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian) it gets them much needed PR and attention plus it makes them sex icons, for musicians it can help album sales and exposure, maybe even for actresses like Pamela Anderson it helps their career a lot as well. But I can't see how Andrews would benefit from this at all.

It would be different if it were Leanne Tweeden from Fox Sports Net who has posed in swimsuits/lingerie etc. but Andrews hasn't done that to my knowledge. I think she actually wants to avoid that. It does make you wonder about why she or her agent would confirm its her because otherwise I doubt this would have gained much steam. Maybe she thinks shes about to be let go from ESPN so she does want to go into modeling or something? I dunno but I just can't see her gaining anything from this.

A sentence fragment is okay within a parenthetical, my friend. A parenthetical is meant to be a note...it doesn't need to be a full sentence.

And I simply used Cliff's Notes to show you I wasn't making it up. You seemed unwilling to take me at my word. ;)

So you are saying that in the video she is wearing ass falsies?

Beginning a sentence with a preposition. For shame, Minstrel. That's a no-no in any collegiate research paper worth a damn, and especially without a comma following it.

Please feel free to continue correcting my mistakes, though. A banner night for the board, huh? 1, 2, 3 producers, all chasing me around like little children, wanting to correct my grammar. ;)

She might as well give that up because there is no way she could prove that to anyone. Does any sane person think that someone like Susan Boyle (ju.st.an.exam.ple.) would have that job is she had equal qualifications?

I quote the author in your link:

But someone misread that very sensible, context-sensitive advice, and decided that the rule was, "Never put the preposition at the end." And like an urban legend, the simplified rule took on a life of its own. Only yesterday a perfectly well-meaning reader chided a friend of mine for ending a sentence with a preposition.

EDIT: I really should be a producer!

That was only a rough draft of my collegiate research paper.

If you don't want to be chased around by producers acting like little children, why are you running and giggling like a little child? Come on, you know you like it!
