he is worth the money people, compared to the entire league, he will be slightly overpaid for his production as he is now, but if he improves at all it is a clear win

I don't disagree with you, but someone went to that site you posted (wages of wins I think) and used it to calculate that Taurean Green should be paid 6 million or so. I didn't look at that site too closely and doubt I'd have the patients to understand it for myself either way.

Hey Nate said T-Green was worth 4 wins.

Probably woulda been. But Nate was coach, unfortunately.

well bake my biscuit

I was posting this before you had posted yours, so I wasn't corrected you. But my number is the correct number.

And since we're offering up things. I'll bake your biscuit, you give me a bj ( thought I'd ask since you're offering up).

I disagree. Portland will not suck for several years, in fact depending on Lillard, they have a decent chance to get into the playoffs this season. As for the future, spend it on who? What high end FA wants to come to Portland?
Agreed! All I ask for from the team I support is they compete every second, of every minute, of every game. A lot is still to be determined for the 2012/13 roster, but my wish is for a coach that will let the young guns take their lumps early and hasten the maturing process. I'm starting to believe in Olshey's ability to be an actual GM with a vision and not just a figurehead for Paul and the "Vulcan's".

This is why you match. He's not worth $11.5, but he still has a lot of potential.

Paying a guy that much money and then hoping that he lives up to it is a recipe for disaster....but Allen has done this before, Darius Miles anyone?

So what's your solution? Don't match and pray some free agent signs for less than they're worth?

Until I see Harrison Barnes attack the basket against real NBA players I will not be convinced. (Not that he did it tonight either)

Jump shooters are nice to have, but guys who can score with the game on the line was the goal. Time will only tell which choice was right.

Comparing D. Miles and Nic is ridiculous. Different abilities, different mindsets and most of all... different expectations from management.

not to mention radically different amounts of foreskin

Compare him to another SF in the NBA and what they make.

It's a great thing you aren't our GM. Don't just compare production and salary. You have to take into account the position of the team. We're not just paying the money, we're paying away cap space that could be used...flexibility.

If we were already over the cap it would be a different situation.

No it is not, they are\were both being paid more than what they gave you on the court with the hopes that they justify the contract you gave them.....

I like Batum's age and play on the court much more than the Miles that was given that ridiculous contract by POR....

But at $11.5 mil? POR is paying him more than he has justified by his play on the court and hoping that he lives up the contract....

Haaa... I only get part of that, but when rubber gloves and piercing are mentioned in the same sentence I run and hide.
