Minnesota wants Batum @ 11.25M a year

The problem with QO for Batum is it brings in the injury factor and teams generally have to overpay RFA's to get them out of their current teams. Say he only gets a 4/40 deal next season, that's at 5-6 million that he wasted just to get out of PDX. If he REALLY wants out, then it will be worth the $$$ and we'll hopefully trade him mid season. I don't think Williams and a couple picks in the 20's is worth giving up on a 23 year old wing, even one as inconsistent as Batum has been.

How often does Paul Allen Fly to Paris? Let the mom and girlfriend hitch a ride back on his private jet once a year. The agent of course would have to sit outside on the wing.

BUMPITY BUMP BUMP BUMPITY BUMP BUMP..........

SO OVERPRICED HOW CAN WE SIGN A NO TALENT WANNABE BRUCE BOWEN TO THIS TYPE OF CONTRACT?!

Re: Minnesota wants Batum @ ~12M a year

I'd love to see how Kahn's mind works.

He trades the 18th pick for Chase Budinger, he has Martell Webster and Wesley Johnson at SF, and now he's going to throw $12m/y at a player who is at best a 3rd option offensively?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: Minnesota wants Batum @ ~12M a year

Batum is not worth this kind of money..... his shot is on and off and he checks out of games for good chunks of time....

He'll never be a sixth man of the year... that's the best he'll ever be as a player!
mmk

I really don't think Batum is worth this kind of money, but if we do somehow get Hibbert we'll be over the cap anyway. The only alternative, in my mind, would be to do a sign-and-trade. Or we could throw more money at him and hopefully get him to wait until after Hibbert is sign-sealed-and delivered.

you gaiz are so smart

Interesting to see how last summer went compared to this summer for the Blazers and S2.

Re: Minnesota wants Batum @ ~12M a year

So how does that make things better? If both deals are submitted at 12:01 AM on the 11th, and both teams have until 11:59 pm on the 13th, what do we do? Sit and hope that Indy declines or matches before we decline or match Batum? Is it a game of chicken?

What a thread!
