Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

At this point, if the T'Wolves don't actually submit the offer, Kahn may as well get sized up for a Bozo the Clown outfit to match his current Ronald McDonald duds.

LOL

@YannisHW "Sources say the Timberwolves will go after Courtney Lee since Portland doesnt want to "play ball" in a potential Batum sign-and-trade."

Clown Town

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

Honestly I think the Blazers would like to get Watson off waivers Friday before any of this Nic crap

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

Bad news for us (if we want to *keep* Batum) because he'll take the QO at that point and we'll be stuck holding a big bag of nothing next summer

He can still be in a trade as an expiring for a team that hopes to sign him next year during the year. It's not the best thing ever, but it is not horrible.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

So if Quick is right (sure, why not?) would we offer Batum 5/$40 and a smile?

Just to keep Batum happy, I'd go 5/50

He's almost worth that now. In a couple seasons I think he could easily be worth that number.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

I don't think he'll take the QO. We'll offer him a five year deal averaging $8-9MM and he'll jump on it.

Kinda what I'm thinking too, now that it comes to it. Offer him his 46.5 million over 5 years instead of 4. Hell, give him a player option in the 5th year. Works out for us, works out for him.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

Portland should sign Lee and then match batum

Then sign Darko while Minny pays him

Kahn is a true genius

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

He's also on a rookie contract. Great contribution.

Matters not when his contract was signed. It runs through 2015/2016 topping out at $4,268,608. A player is worth what comparable players are being paid. But then, the Spurs aren't owned by a narcissistic meglomaniac. Probably why they're so well-run and competitive.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

But, but, what of Nico's dream? How can the T'Wolves be so cruel?

I thought about that with Lee, would be pretty funny. No thanks on Darko, since we'd have to claim him, and that actually helps them by relieving what they owe him. But, we should nab Stiemsma and Lee, just for the laughs.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

So does Batum sign the QO now or take a long term deal?

You want to pay Darko more, or assume some of the burden, be my guest. But that would be a rather stupid move. Darko's done.

And ruin the dreams of Steimsma and Lee too? You're heartless.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

First thing he *should* do is fire his dumbs agent. After that, it's up to him. But that dude has done Nic no favors whatsoever.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

So much for Haynes saying the deal was done

Haynes is a hack

He shares the same source with Jaynes.

They've been total mouthpieces for David Kahn and the Wolves.

I'm sorry, but you're an idiot if you actually think players that aren't on rookie contracts and are comparable to Leonard, ie Batum, would get contracts similar to what Leonard is being paid.

Talk about fantasy land.

Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

Wow. Been out all day. Just stepped up to the computer.

Minnesota makes an offer (aka a promise) out of thin air (since they didn't have the money to make the legit offer), and now look like they're reneging? What a crappy, crappy, classless organization. I see where the Timbertrolls get it.

This "offer" was a weak attempt to get Portland back to the table for a S&T.

Haynes: full of shit? (confirmed) make it happen

To be fair, he said nic signed the offer sheet, which the Minn. writer confirmed as well, but that it has not been submitted to the league yet.
