Re: Nic 4 years, 46.5 Million

What do you plan on trading to the Spurs for Leonard that you think they would actually accept? Unless you're moving Aldridge or multiple first round picks, they'd laugh at you. The reason why? Because Leonard is a good player that is currently getting paid WAY under market value. Leonard definitely isn't "available".

Everyone on the Spurs roster is available, and Leonard could easily be packaged with players and picks to be traded for Batum for example.

I realize you have no NBA GM experience, but your defeated attitude will not carry you far in real life. You have to believe there are possibilities in life, and find a way to make them occur.

They had a computer error, it will definitely be submitted tomorrow. Oops, the dog ate it. We need to get a new one signed. Oops, we don't have any cap room, we will get that offer signed next week.

Imaginary Cap Space is one thing. But an imaginary signed offer sheet that can't be turned into the league is one of the funniest things I have ever heard of.

a total fukkin "Kahn job"! wow, went out for a 2 hr bike ride and come back to this awesome Minny fiasco! LMFAO! BTW big time props to BRIANinWA for fukkin nailin the Wolves azz to the wall on the Minny Cap situation!

Ray Richardson w/St. Paul Pioneer Press has good point: MIN needs to waive Webster and B. Miller before they can extend offer sheet to Batum

Kahn's weak scare tactic.

MSP papers listen to us, but Quick/Haynes/Dwight ignore helpful tweets. :smh:

Good lord can't Haynes just come out and be titled as the Wolves beat writer.

Yes Batum signed the offer so I guess he can fall back on that. But how about some Blazer analysis idiot, like Batum signed offer but Wolves can't submit it yet (oh yea forgot to mention that)

I don't know how he gets away with this shit. He is suppose to be a Blazer beatwriter giving us Blazer perspective. Instead he is either a complete moron or working for the wolves.

Now when Dwight and Haynes write anything, I wait to hear what Brian has to say before reacting to it.

I think Jason could of come up with something better than "good point". I know he has to work with these people but how about calling them out? JQ alluded to it a week ago. He knew they had cap issues.

Brian, did you get confirmation on waiting 7 days? Quick still making it sound like the second they waive Web/Miller they can submit their offer sheet?

Jason Quick ‏@jwquick
Of course, those waivers can happen any second, but the 72 hour clock to match would not start until that happens, Nic signs, & POR receives

Has any team ever pulled shit like the TWolves this summer? It just screams "bush league".

Its like they tried to circumvent the salary cap or something. Would be the first time for them, right???? :MARIS61:

Been at work all day. What's goin on? No offer?

easier to just quote Brian

Even with the Darko amnesty, they don't have enough to offer Batum more than 4/20M. They only have 4.4M in cap space right now. They could waive Miller and Webster to open up enough space, but that takes 7 days from when they were waived. They can't offer a 4/46M sheet today.

Yeah, here's the Coon quote (paren are my edits):
Coon FAQ said:
If a player is waived with non-guaranteed salary (like both Webster and Miller), his non-guaranteed salary (4.5M for Webster, 4.9M for Miller) comes off the team salary when he clears waivers.

A player released July 1 to August 14 stays "on waivers" for seven days. A player released between August 15 and June 30 of the following year stays on waivers for 48 hours. The waiver period includes Saturdays and Sundays. During the waiver period other teams may claim the player and assume his contract. If no team has claimed the player before the end of the waiver period (7 days), he is said to have "cleared waivers." The player's contract is terminated and he becomes a free agent. The only way to terminate a contract early (including retirements) (other than with an ETO -- see question number 57) is through the waiver process.
