Well he dunked his way to 14 points, 11 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in his 4 years when he was mostly a starter with HOU on .626% shooting in just under 30 mpg. Sounds like a legit part of their team to me. Would love to have a center who with those number who was that efficient.
i wouldnt like to see nurk become like capela or gobert offensively

that would be wasting of his talent

Waiting for Olshey to get permission as Brad do

I really don't know what the attraction is for and increased Pace.

here is the top half of the NBA this season in pace:

View attachment 39026

7 of the top-10 teams in pace didn't even make the playoffs. And only 5 of the top 15 teams made the playoffs

and then there's the bottom half of the league:

Portland essentially had the same pace as Utah, and a faster pace than Dallas, Phoenix, Denver, and the Clippers

pace may make for a little more entertainment but it sure isn't a key to winning basketball
how is pace measured?

Pace and Efficiency Part 1: Measuring and Predicting NBA ...

Seems pace is usually measure by an average of both teams?
Look at their model and stats...

What's funny about the way the game has changed, those super fast, 7 seconds or less Suns would rank dead last in pace this season.

Just so there’s no confusion, the article mentions that the serious interest is from D’Antonis side right now, and it’s TBD whether Portland feels the same. It also reiterates Olsheys specific interest in Billups.

Well, MDA was on the original Woj tweet about guys we're interested in

I'm not sure how Olshey could even spin a D'Antoni hire after saying defense would be a priority in his latest press conference.

If he's trying to prove the roster is built for defense, hiring MDA would be about as cocky of a move as a GM could pull off.

Want to improve the defense? Play Powell instead of CJ, Little instead of Melo, Collins (Is that guy's ankle EVER going to heal?) instead of Kanter, and keep RoCo. Done. Even better if we can pull off a CJ for Middleton trade.

great post

Part of that is the other team's pace also impacts the number.
It's total possessions per 48 minutes. If the other team takes 20+ seconds per possession - the number of possessions is lower - thus reducing the pace.

I mean MDAs squads ranked higher defensively on average than Terry’s.

If Darvin Ham, David Vanterpool, Ime Udoka and Becky Hammon aren’t on whatever bullshit list our fucktard GM puts together then what the fuck are we even doing?

They must be the other three -four names not mentioned from the list of 7-8

Not too excited about the prospect of having a guy who is notorious for amazing regular seasons and huge playoff letdowns. Obviously he'd put a really fun product on the court for us to watch. He probably would get Dame an MVP. Actually in order to justify the hiring after what Olshey said about defense, he'd have to bring in a big name defensive coordinator. So if that were the case then I'd be fine with it.

I would those guys are on other list as well.

If they go assistant coach I like Ime Udoka.

Vanterpool is no Monte Williams, I'm doubtful Ime is ready for a HC position.

Damn might actually be able to average a triple double with Mike D'Antoni.

Depends on the team. We certainly got higher quality looks in transition than in the halfcourt.

The Howard news was no surprise to me and to be honest i am surprised that part of the coaching rumor was not shot down quicker but whatever. I think the Blazers will TRY and swing big ala try and steal Erik S. from Miami and then "settle " for Billups or someone like that.
