after my freshman season in college, I worked on a road construction crew in Eastern Oregon....east of John Day. I bought a Rambler Classic station wagon for 75 dollars and the damn thing worked. I put 35000 miles on it in two years to bump it well over 200K miles. My buddies would ride in it but it was a fucking chore to coax any gal to even consider getting near the thing (easier to blame the car than myself). It was ugly, but ran like a dream as long as you didn't want to street race. 3 speed with overdrive and I still remember filling up the tank when the price of regular was 24.9 cents/gal

Didn't all the seats in that thing fold down into one big bed? Maybe you just needed more girls to fill up the space.

This what we need. Someone to hold these dorks accountable, especially defensively.

Chauncey was high on GTjr coming out of Duke. He was the only commentator back then that I recall projecting him as a solid nba player and a great second round pick up.
Ive always felt its probably 90 percent players and 10 coaching, maybe he's got a shot as our HC?

It's been mentioned multiple times how well B-B-B-Billups can break something down and out-analyze everyone else in the room. Very well respected and for a while, I've believed it's his job to lose.

Message boards have always called him classy, only because his first name isn't LeRoy.

I want a non-rookie head coach.

who do you like that could be interested?

By girls, I presume you mean supermodels.

Or are you keeping those to yourself?

it was a 63, so yes

and like I said, I had enough trouble finding a girl singular without trying for girls plural

This in contrast to Neil saying it's not fair for teams currently in the playoffs to ask for permission to interview candidates.

Come on, we can't afford to lose our guy to Boston.

This is a savvy move by Olshit. This way he can blame Stotts for winning 2 games in the playoffs and costing him the coach he “ really wanted”

The thing that concerns me is it might not be the only job that's his to lose. I'm reading this afternoon that Stevens and the Celtics are high on him, too.

So what team will hire the first coach?
Saw where Stevens has already contacted teams for permission to interview and Billup's is on his list.
Once the playoffs are over there could be a few more openings?

My fear in hiring 1st time coach is there’s always a learning curve. Say it’s 2-3 years you’ve now burned up the Dames last few good years.

dantoni makes no sense for this team, he and terry stotts are very similar

One is known for '7 seconds or less'.
One is known for being in the bottom quartile in fast break points and sometimes at the very bottom.

One has a .491 record in the Playoffs
One has a ..343 record in the Playoffs

While they are both offensive minded coaches, they go about it very differently.

they prioritize 3-point shooting, centers have no big role on their teams, they dont give a flying fuck about defense

id like someone who knows how to coach defense (you dont need to have great defensive players to have a good defense, you only need solid defenders and good defensive coach, see what thibodeau did with the new york knicks) and someone who will make all of his players contribute (guards, wings and centers)... portland was poorly coached team, we have personnel to be better both offensive and defensive team

They were quite good on defense when Capela was their C and he produced at a very high level. Certainly not a "no big role" situation when he was there.

capela was mainly dunking the ball, getting alley oops and other great looks from harden and later cp3

hes like rudy gobert, guy who has no skill set offensively, but both are dunking the ball a lot
