It’s a joke. Is green front really that sorely needed?
It’s a name completely out of left field. Jesus Christ.

ok I’ll be taking all your posts as jokes from now on, thanks.

Though not necessarily as a coach, Sam Presti has done good. same with Mike Malone and
Monty Williams, tho that was only for a year.
Malone hasn’t won anything.
Monty Williams, might win something. But he spent less than a year with the Spurs if I’m correct.
Hardly would consider that part of the Popovich coaching tree.

seems like you're setting the bar unrealistically high.

No I started following this team when first came franchise.

So what am I miss here..... she inherited every dollar of her wealth. How is that an indication of business sense? She had the business sense to have a billionaire brother?

How long was Ime an assistant to Pop? Why isn't his name coming up as a HC candidate if just being an assistant with no specific responsibility that we can find is just a resume' enhancer?

Also, Brent Barry's been in the Spurs organization for 3 years.

Well, all this people are so enamored with the Popovich coaching tree and it’s not exactly producing stellar results.

Mike Malone isn’t even part of the Popovich coaching tree.

budenholzer is the lone success id say. And he was an assistant for 20 years.

there's more to this than experience as an assistant. maybe becky is a better leader and gets her players' attention better than Ime that makes her a better candidate. maybe becky's experience as a top PG gives her a leg up over Udoka's experience as a role player.

Could be bunch of things, and it's nuanced. not every thing is black and white.

as long as Olshey/Jody/et al do their research, interview well, and have it be a meritocracy, then we shouldn't have concern on the hire.

Yeah, but who ELSE?
Taylor Jenkins, the best young coach in the NBA. Memphis was supposed to be awful last season and he had them in the play-in. This year his Grizzlies won 3 straight postseason games.

Bud hasn’t won anything.

Steve Kerr wasn’t a coach under Popovich.

And if you’re really gonna use him as an example he said he stole from Jackson, Popovich and D’Antoni.
Bud’s been to two conference Finals. Only one coach wins a title each season. Doesn’t mean the other 29 suck.

A better question of the Pop pupils is who hasn’t had success as a head coach in the NBA? They’ve all done very well.

Hammon after hearing Jody voicing her desire for her:

"Portland's a first-class organization and will have great candidates for its head coaching job, but I've decided not to be one of them," Hammon told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. "Whoever they choose will have big shoes to fill from Terry [Stotts]."

Hammon was ultimately uncomfortable with the idea of pursuing the opening after Blazer's owner Jody Allen publicly called for her hiring within weeks of Stotts’ departure on Friday night. The public nature of Allen’s endorsement — telling Yahoo Sports that “Becky Hammon is the woman I want” — left Hammon feeling she would put both Allen and Portland’s process in an awkward circumstance should she pursue the opening.

Just had a mental break down for few seconds.

I'm just sitting here reading all this and sorting out who is where on whom?

A lot of Blazer fans spinning in circles over this.
