is the "other" someone we/nba twitter have discussed here before (barry/staley), or completely out of left field? there's a few assistants that i'm particularly interested in that haven't been mentioned before.

one of em has a linked in profile lol https://www.linkedin.com/in/willie-green-67310882

- Willie Green
- Darvin Ham
- I used to hate this guy when I lived in Cleveland, but Mike Brown has a stellar resume, tbh
- Another under the radar pick is the guy who's been with Pop longer than both Becky and Ime and someone who many of their fans thought would take over for Pop: Will Hardy.

i dunno if it's the novelty factor (of our discussion anyway) but I think all of these guys interest me more than the three that have been bandied about.

Neil’s specialty is finding 2nd round talent

Barton, Crabbe, Connoughton, Trent, DeAndre Jordan in LA… I know I might be missing someone. But damn that’s a pretty good track record.
You're not missing anyone, but Neil missed Draymond Green, Khris Middleton, Georges Niang, Dillon Brooks, Monte' Morris....

Looks like we were the last team to ever have a "Player/Coach"
I'm all for Coach Lillard!

CJ was a good pick...but I was told how good Giannis would be well before the Draft by someone who makes the Draft a hobby....and nails it year after year. So CJ was a good pick, but a huge swing and a miss compared to the pairing of Dame/Giannis.
I think I'm going to throw up....

The CJ pick made no sense at the time, and it still makes no sense. Dame had just won ROY and Neil went out and drafted another ball dominant guard who is undersized for the two. Why is it that the people on this forum seem to be better at Neil's job than Neil?

i don't mind the counter points, but there's a level of respect people used to have here. now it's all just snark and condescension when people can't get their point across in a cogent manner. whatever it is, the level of discourse has gone down a tank.

maybe it's just a few posters, or maybe i'm just out-growing this place. or maybe everyone's just frustrated with the direction of the team without hope. i dunno. oh well.

This has been happening for years now. I used to post fairly regularly here but now just lurk. Between the politics, knowitallism, lack of respect, gang mentality of those who post 50x a day, it's become a fairly toxic echo chamber, not a level, open place for discussion. Still probably the "best" board for Blazers stuff, but at this point that's not saying much...

How is it these teams that fired their coach AFTER blazers fired theirs, hiring new ones so fast?

It’s pretty obvious then it’s Chauncey Billups.

MDA is the safest pick. Hammon is the riskiest. I don’t mind MDA at all as long as he hires a good defensive coach. And for all we talk about upgrading the defense (rightfully so btw) the offense needs to get better as well.

1. Billups
2. MDA
3. Hammon

That's my feeling. If it wasn't Billups it would be announced by now. At this point I'd be a little surprised if it's not him.

didnt the mavs have an issue a few years ago with how women were treated in their organization or something? Lol
Yep. That along with the KP rape allegations and now Kidd’s hiring……I’d hate to run PR for them

It’s like…

“Listen, we just don’t give a fuck about women”

You’d think. Unless they’ve been waiting on Billups for interviews, or doing a more thorough vetting process and keeping option open

I want a coach that will hold all player accountable the way they play that includes Dame. All this talk about Dame this and that but I really don't really care about all that what I want to see a team that plays together on both ends and if make Dame score less for that to happen then so be it. I rather have Dame score between 20-25 points and get double digits assist and the team win I will take that. I don't give damn who make the all star team because all about show. If we decide to keep CJ that will include him too.

Portland was 5th in ppg in the regular season and 1st in ppg in the playoffs.

I think it’s pretty obvious that it’s Billups at this point. When LAC are eliminated it will be announced.

It’s either Becky, MDA or Chauncey…. My bet is on Chauncey

Its Chauncey it’s pretty obvious. Becky has been home for weeks now since the Spurs didn’t even make the playoffs. They would have announced her by now. MDA team been eliminated he would have obviously been hired by now.

Yes there is.
jeez, you too?

Anyone on this list?
